My girlfriends and I stayed here as part of our birthday celebration. What a great choice! I'm going to start with the best thing first:

Hotel Staff -- I've traveled a lot! And the staff here is probably the best I've encountered. They were friendly, professional, helpful, and beyond willing to make your stay memorable. Thank you Carlos, Sebastian, and Leiniker for the great service, organizing our tours, and great day time conversation. Thank you Jesus, for the great service during the evening, including great conversation, and following up to make sure that some issues we had with our room had been fixed. Thank you Ariel for taking care of me during happy hour. You were definitely appreciated! And thanks to Deyner and Nevier...what a great way to start the morning! Your breakfast service was beyond compare and thank you for your conversation and making us feel at home in Cartagena.

Hotel Location -- Casa Lola in a great location if you want to have the combination of staying in a good hotel, being close to everything you need, and being in a real neighborhood. Trinity Square in Getsemani is a great place to hang out a night -- street food, street drinks, street performers, artists selling things, restaurants -- it has a really cool vibe. The hotel is in the PERFECT location. The hotel is less than a 10-minute walk to the Walled City.

The Hotel -- The hotel is a boutique hotel with cool decor. The restaurant has an outdoor rainforest/tropics feeling (I'm not describing this well, but I liked it). It is wonderful. The breakfast is good! The rooftop pools are great and are a wonderful place to wind down after a long hot day of touring. The sunsets on the rooftop are beautiful. Watch out for the vultures though...I mean actual bird vultures. The two for one happy hour drinks are nice. Make sure to have a lola (that is a fruit) margarita. The hotel provides many common spaces to relax or get on Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi is available in the rooms, but the hotel is so interesting, I never wanted to stay in my room.

The rooms -- The rooms are nice and provide all that you need. But, the room is the only place I had slight problems. Our room needs some updating (#17). The tile on the floor is old so it is cracked and looks dirty (it was definitely clean though). The door knob in our bathroom broke and our front shutter door wouldn't close (it was fixed after a few days). I could never adjust the air conditioner so the room stayed freezing. I asked for an extra blanket and was told they did not have any. Also, the shower water was luke warm at best. It seemed like they were updating some rooms while we were there, so I suspect that at some point all rooms will be updated. But, to be clear, even with these small things, I recommend this hotel highly.

It is a very unique facility. It is true definition of boutique Hotel. Personnel was great, the facility is beautiful and the location is perfect if you want to experience the local culture. The room was clean and spacious. You are a couple of blocks away from the wall city.
I highly recommend this hotel.

Great location and a lovely hotel. Super comfortable, very accommodating and helpful staff, breakfast arepas are amazing, and the pools are a great perk. We really appreciated the restaurant recommendations, complimentary airport shuttle, and the organized trip to the Rosario islands. The decor and atmosphere of the hotel is very spa like, mixed with some medieval/ hunting lodge vibes. Funky but also wonderful. We really enjoyed our stay here and would come back in a heartbeat.

Love the decor and the excellent service. Everyone on staff very friendly and helpful. My only minor complaint was occasionaly noise - both from the common-area speakers that played tunes all afternoon, and the room next to ours with which we shared a glass wall and heard people talking, showering, etc. But overall, it's a lovely place to stay in Cartagena.
