Go to Medellin. Stay at the Marriott in Poblado. Breakfast is very good. Use the lounge, especially if you’re working. Francisco is an absolute gem! He remembered us from our previous stays. His outstanding service and pleasant personality will keep us coming back.

Francisco, the server in the executive lounge was incredible! He was there every night and remembered my name, and my favorite beverage. He greeted all of the customers and interacted with him to make them feel welcome. He is a true asset to this Marriott establishment in Medillin. Thank you Francisco for your service.
Just finished up a three-night stay. The hotel is decent but there were quite a few small (and not so small) annoyances that we experienced and not what we would expect with a Marriott.
THE GOOD
- Good location
- Outstanding view from our room
- Friendly staff
- Fairly comfortable bed
- Generous with bottled water
- Decent breakfast buffet
THE NOT SO GOOD/BAD
- Housekeeping staff did not restock many room items (coffee, body lotion/body wash)
- Coffee maker did not work (they did replace it relatively quickly)
- No glass or cup in bathroom to rinse with when brushing teeth
- Bath towels were absolutely terrible and reminded me of the towels from my high school gym class
- Hallways look tired (worn carpet, scuffed walls, etc)
- When checking in, we were given the option of purchasing a breakfast plan that would waive the hotel taxes. Front desk staff didn't seem to understand what they were offering (was the rate a nightly rate or for all three nights? could we just do the plan for one night? etc...they had to research to answer our questions). It would have been helpful to have this information when making the reservation, because it is a lot to process on the spot)
Overall, our stay can best be described as 'ok'.
The Medellin Marriott Hotel is an average Marriott hotel but for Medellin is very nice. The rooms are comfortable and the view are nice of the valley. It’s about a 20 to 30 minute walk to get to the center of Poblado which can be a long walk back and forth. The lounge was very disappointing because I had high expectations reading reviews. There was some hot food but usually it was not very good and the wine was barely drinkable. The bartender, Francisco, was usually chatting with customers and not attending to most people and was not very friendly to us. The best part of the hotel was the restaurant breakfast. The food was excellent with made to order eggs, empanadas, fresh fruits and more. As of Feb 2023, it’s a great value on points but not sure it would be worth the cash.

What could be an amazing place for a relaxing stay could quickly turn into your worst nightmare
Peace and relaxation at night? Maybe not if your corner suite happens to be located next to the executive lounge. The cleaning staff will make sure to make as much noise as possible while cleaning and arranging the lounge kitchen for the night.
Are you a Marriott Titanium member ? A room upgrade? What is this? No, not with us …
But the breakfast, restaurant generally and the pool area and their staff definitely deserve a big compliment. And did I mention the gym - one of the best ever! Highly recommended!
Standard king room very small for two adults and small child. Couldn’t take a shower the first morning as tub wouldn’t drain; coffee maker also non-functional. I had requested suite night awards prior to check-in. The nights are now gone from my Marriott account, but front desk says no suites are available and i need to contact Marriott corporate to get my suite night requests returned. Decent breakfast and hotel in good location, but not worth the price point given the room issues and subpar customer service.
