I booked a room at Bally's and was told, while checking in, that I would be at the Claridge. The lady told me that it was one of their "renovated rooms." When I opened the door, it was a dirty and nasty room that was renovated in the 1970s. We went back to Bally's front desk and they gave us another "renovated room." This did have updated furniture and a TV, but the rug had not been vacuumed and the mirrors had not been cleaned. We went back to Bally's front desk and asked for our money back. We were cancelling our stay. We were then given a room in Bally's. The shower had mold, you could see the soap scum, there was grim on the light switches, and we had no towels. I've been going to AC for 15 years and this was the worst experience....and oh yes, the hotel doesn't have beach chairs and so forth. It's now a private company and they charge $20 for a chair and umbrella. Bally's charges $10 a day to use their pool.... the one hot tub had dirt floating on top. The whole complex is run-down.

Bally's had a great self check in service. Swipe your card, click a couple of choices,your keys are activated, and you are on your way. The location is great for the boardwalk, we are not big gamblers, so we were there to see a show and go to a few restaurants. Unfortunately, Sammy's Beach Bar had inattentive waitstaff, no host or hostess to keep track of people, so we sat at a table for over 20 minutes and finally got up and left without ever having been approached by a server. Frustrating. Later that same night, we sat in the lobby bar, and AGAIN were ignored. The cocktail waitress was agruing with a customer, never acknowledged us, and again we left without ever being served. The 6th floor ( where some restaurants are located) had a little better handle on the clients needs, but was still a bit slow.

Clean. Stayed at ballys tower. Awesome ocean view.we had to switch rooms due to a water leak in shower. This happened 10:00 pm and we were able to move to a similar room quickly and efficiently. Hotel is next to Ceasers and close to Tropicana and right across from pier shops.

Room Tip: Upgrade to ocean view. Both bedroom and bathroom had awesome view.

Staff can be friendly and helpful, and most are. I was given a room with one bed, i was changed to the correct room. The rooms are older and somewhat small, but our view was of the ocean. Hotel is on boardwalk and close to other activities. Many times we were given different answers to same question, i.e. how often does the trolley arrive. All in all it was a nice stay.

Room Tip: people not traveling on a casino trip get the better rooms

Accommodation was very poor...room was classified as "Renovated". Just awful decor and very dated furniture. Even worse, floor tiles in bathroom were filthy with grime. It really made me sick. Customer service Rep "Stacy" when asked what was latest check out time responded "we are not giving late check out to you" Its not what I asked !!!! She was negative and very cold. She really should not be in that department. I would not stay there again.

Room Tip: Ensure you ask for confirmation of room area and renovations.
