We joined the 5 days Darwin Triangle Tour (Santa Cruz, Isabella and Floreana Islands) and had a fabulous time. Overall, Red Mangrove runs a very efficient and organized operations with different tour groups rotating around the 3 lodges across 3 islands. The land transportation, luggage, snorkeling equipment, boat transfers, hotel check-ins, meals were arranged smoothly and effortlessly. We never had to wait for anything, no mess ups, and nothing or nobody left behind.
There were 9 people in our group and one naturalist. The naturalist basically stayed and traveled with his/her group the entire time, It worked out great. We enjoyed meeting a diverse, multi-nationals and ended up exchanging e-mails in the end.
A few other highlights during our time with Red Mangroves:
1. Love the outdoor dining area at the Aventura Lodge. There are so many wild life around to watch and fantastic view of the harbor. The front desk staff were helpful, efficient and friendly.
2. Dinner at a local family home at Floreana Island
3. Snorkeling with sea lions at Floreana
4. Wild life at Tintoreras (penguins, white tip sharks, iguanas)
5. Visit to the Giant Tortoises Farm

A suggestion for the hotel: Buffet meals were just okay. Whenever we had the option to order from several choices and food were prepared as ordered, the food quality seemed a lot better. Perhaps, consider giving guests the choices to order from a menu.

A few side notes:
1. If your schedule permits, consider spending extra time at Isabella Island. We were only there for 1 night and it was not enough. There were so many things to do and see there. The beach is beautiful. You can bike around the national park. There is flamingo lagoon. Most people in our tour group ended up extending their stay at Isabella Island. Red Mangrove is great at accommodating special requests such as this.

My husband and I stayed at three Red Mangrove Lodges in January 2012 - and it was an absolutely wonderful wonderful experience! The lodges (on Isabela, Floreana and Santa Cruz Islands) were very different. At each site the staff were helpful, cheerful, and professional. Nearly all were bilingual so there were no language issues for us. The food was excellent, the rooms had everything we needed, and we were sad to leave. From the time our plane landed in the Galapagos, all our needs were met. All we had to do was get ready for hiking, exploring, snorkeling or whatever the next activity was. The naturalists employed by the Red Mangrove were top notch and very knowledgeable about all things related to these special islands.

Watching the sea lions, marine iguanas, frigate birds and pelicans makes your stay at the Red Mangrove Aventura a fun and interesting stay.

The rooms are nice, although left a bit to be desired in the way of privacy. The views over the harbour were beautiful. The restaurant was good, not great. However, being seated by the water watching the animals overshadows any shortcomings in the food itself.

Service from the reception staff was very good. We did have a minor mistaken answer by the reception that led us to be hurried in order to catch our tour to Garrapatero beach.

Note - Do not accept Red Mangrove Divers Lodge as an equal substitution for the Aventura Lodge. See my review for that hotel for more details.

Dear Whoever,

First of all , thank you very much for your comments. It is always rewarding to know that our guests have had a wonderful experience. Regarding the Santa Cruz Divers Lodge is important to remark that we always let our guests know in advanced all details about this hotel and also that their stay is at this one not at Aventura Lodge. We would have loved to know about your food comments during the time that you remain with us, so that we had been able to fix any situation and the most important thing to us which is to improve every single day to make our guests experience unforgettable

The on-site management and staff of the Red Mangrove Aventura Lodge are terrific, and the situation is charming. We sipped wine on a veranda we shared with two snoozing sea lions (Mama and pup) an several colorful iguanas. The bayview room was clean and comfortable. Our guide, Jimmy P., stayed with us throughout our 7-day soft adventure program (three islands), and made the visit spectacular. He arranged for everything we asked, with good humor and thoughtful attention.

Room Tip: Finances permitting, the Suite Mayor is spectacular, but the superior (water view) room was also fin...
