An English review;

The hotel itself
- The rooms were outdated, however a good size and we didn’t stay in the room long for it to really bother us.
- At the beach there are loads of free sun beds
- The grounds are well kept which is nice
- Multiple bars spread out across the hotel
- Crepe & waffle bar at Bella Vista which is a lovely touch
- Amazing snorkeling just outside the bay and along the pier

Food
- Al A Carte restaurants (Italian, Mexican, seafood & mezza type food). Advice would be to book ASAP otherwise you will miss out!
- Buffet food was edible (edible being the main word here...) they do fresh pancakes in the morning and have a good omelet bar
- The pasta bar was always far too al dente so never really ate much of that

Drinks
- there are about 8 cocktails on the all inclusive menu, only about 2 are recognized cocktails (like a Long Island Tea)
- The wine I wouldn’t bother with unless you need to strip paint in your room (we have had worse at other hotels but it was pretty bad), the red wine is always chilled too

General comments
- For the money it’s good
- If you aren’t a kids person this isn’t the place for you, there were hundreds when we came because we thought it was out of kids holidays - turns out it wasn’t!
- Entertainments team are friendly if you like that sort of thing
- I would recommend getting a green flag which you can put on your seat which shows you don’t want to be disturbed (you can get these from the towel stalls)

For the money you pay, it’s good - if I paid slightly more I would be rating this as a three star. As a white English female you get stalked by the Egyptian males and constantly harassed just because you are English - this will get on your nerves!

A really fantastic hotel!

There is plenty to do for all ages, we stayed for two weeks and did not feel a need to leave the hotel. We arrived shortly after Ramadan and there were parties on the beach: foam parties, colour festivals and live music. This is something I have suggested the entertainment team do more often to keep things lively.

The animation team were amazing, full of energy and have a good daily programme. Aqua gym, Zumba, belly dancing, evening shows, mini disco, salsa parties .. the list goes on! I found this hotel really catered for all ages, my daughter (age 3) was able to join in with all activities but we didn’t try out the children’s club! They also offer nights out with transfers to and from the hotel included in the entrance fee which was minimal (roughly £8).

Overall everywhere the staff were friendly: waiters, bar staff, chefs, cleaners etc. They would go over and beyond to make sure we had what we needed and were enjoying ourselves.

The rooms were slightly outdated, but I tend to find this most places. The air con was good and each room we had had a tv with English channels. The mini bar was filled everyday at no extra cost (something we found to be a luxury compared to other places we have stayed!). However, the rooms only had a shower, something that was difficult with my daughter so if anyone is taking little children I would consider this before coming.

The food was incredible. The main buffet had variety every day, with themed evenings and the staff would dress up. Each snack bar had its own specialities including homemade waffles, pancakes, stone baked pizzas and hotdogs! We are in three out of the four a la cartes and were impressed by all.. generous food portions! However, the Lebanese did not have a vegetarian option so I found I had to go to the evening buffet after the family had finished eating. The Mexican was generally our favourite!

Swimming pools, water slides, amazing beach with the opportunity to snorkel within the hotel perimeters as well as boat trips! My daughter loved the mini swimming pool with miniature sun beds.

Shisha bar, spa, gym.

The hotel is spotless, cleaners and gardens work hard to ensure the hotel is constantly tip top. There was never the dirty sewer smell or little anywhere, toilets cleansed very regularly and rooms cleaned daily.

The most major downside to this hotel is WiFi connection. This was only available within the bars but was slow and had poor connection.

Our family was very impressed with this hotel, we have had the best family holiday and could have done with another week!

Desert Rose it’s a nice hotel , with pleasant gardens and pools , hospitable staff and amazing snorkeling. Food was very good and diversified, it’s impossible to didn’t find something to eat for everyone and they have late dinner , early breakfast which is fantastic if you do trips . The rooms was ok , but the bathroom really needs update. You can do very good snorkeling at the end of the beach, near the bridge... we saw a lot of fishes and even a turtle . In our opinion the hotel would be amazing if they upgrade the bathroom, because these was our big inconvenience.
