Visited at the beginning of June. First time to Egypt.
As the title says it was mostly fabulous.
It was a total relaxing holiday. Very chilled and we didn't lift a finger whist we were there. We never had a problem getting a sunbed around the main pool, although I did witness (as mentioned by a recent reviewer) the pool staff placing towels on beds just prior to 8, and clearing towels from beds who hadn't bribed them. There really is no need to do this.
Special mention to the staff at the snack bar (who worked in the Stonegrill at night). They are a credit to the place.
Enjoyed the Marhaba restaurant the most, the Tiran was our 2nd favourite. We only went to the Italian once and had a bad experience; basically each restaurant gives you a review card as soon as you have put your fork down from the last course. We always were happy to put excellent on all (except drink quality which was average) but for service efficiency we put fair in the Italian. The waiter who was standing over us took great exception to this and challenged us. Then gave us filthy look, next thing the maitre d came over and started interrogating us. It was very very uncomfortable. If they don't want honest feedback they shouldn't ask.

Never had to queue at the restaurant booking machines and managed to book every night at one or another of them. Always managed to get a reasonable time too ie between 745 & 830. We ate at the restaurants at night as we found the Fountains buffet very samey.

We both succumbed to the dreaded tummy bug, even though we used the hand gels at every opportunity.

My son visited the shisha tent on the beach, and said that Max was an asset to the place.

Very small niggle when we were there. There was a couple who insisted on playing their music to everyone who surrounded them. This went against everything that the Thomson rep said when he was selling the peaceful sensatori experience. Luckily they only usually appeared mid afternoon.

All in all we loved the place, but couldn't give it a five start review because of the things we mentioned.

Dear roversrus,

Thank you for your comments of your recent stay here at Sensatori Sharm el Sheikh. I am sorry that you have faced this situation at the Italian restaurant. Rest assured the comment was passed to the restaurant manager to ensure it does not happen again. Feedback is very important to us to allow us to consistently improve.

I am sorry also that you have been unhappy with another couple playing music at the pool. We try not to interfere with the behavior of others as we know each guest enjoys their holiday in a different way. However, if we receive a complaint then we would approach the guest to ask them to stop. Had the couple been reported as disturbing others we could have taken action; however, if left unsaid we cannot know that they are disturbing others since it may be that other guests around them had asked them to share their music.

Overall, I am pleased that you have enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you again soon.

Regards,
Mohamed Shaarawi

Never been to Egypt before so we were pleasantly surprised. When we arrived their appeared to be good security around but know worries that was to stop anyone going in to the hotel who were not guests. The food was excellent in the main restaurant and the themed restaurant. Staff very helpful and the rooms very clean and modern. Their was an adult only pool and part of the beach. The main restaurant was split for adults only or a family side. The tip here and their works wonders and the entertainment and night was very good. I certainly would go again. A visit to Soho square is worth a visit where their is night clubs and a duty free shop for cigs and alcohol. But take your passport as they require it to purchase goods. Plenty of good restaurants and st night it lights up like a silver Christmas.

My partner and I stayed here last September in one of the swim up sea view rooms. The room was just the right size and as the temperatures spiked 40+ most days being able to dip straight into your own pool was heaven, we didn't even bother with the main pools as we couldn't see the point. We were constantly brought drinks by the beach waiter who worked so hard, we ended up just asking for bottle water. The restaurants we're all good our favourite was the Middle Eastern followed by the Stone Grill we went here twice (which is extra but worth it) a little tip when you order drinks in the Stone Grill you do have to pay however if you drink beer there is no charge, the steaks are amazing especially the ribeye and fillet. It was my boyfriends birthday whist we were away, I spoke to the Thompson rep whoever kindly organised a suprise birthday cake at the end of out meal in the Middle Eastern restaurant one night which was brilliant all of the waiting staff sang which made it very special. We loved the entertainment, you might read here that is cheesy it's not really the ends team work very hard, your on your holiday just relax and enjoy, the piano bar is awesome and can get very lively with a brilliant atmosphere. We met some awesome people and made new friends who we are still in contact with now. My partner and I were just discussing where to go next year and have decided to go back and give it another go, though we are looking to go in April as it will be a little cooler and definitely stay in a swim up.

Room tip: Swim up room well worth it

Just back yesterday from another 2 weeks at this excellent hotel. We booked to go again after last years summer holiday was so great. Did think that maybe it wouldnt live up to last years expectations. It exceeded them. The staff are so friendly and will do anything for you. A few of them recognised us and came over to talk. A la cartes were all lovely and the evening entertainment was good. I will return. Not next year as the world is a big place. But I will return in the future.

We've just returned from 2 weeks at the beautiful Sensatori. We stayed here last May and had a fab time and for the first time ever revisited a hotel for the second time.
It was just as good this time round. We stayed in room 2411 which is a standard double sea view room. I emailed the hotel 2 weeks before arrival to request a high floor in block 2 and that is exactly what we got. Great views over the main pool and complex and out to sea and Tiran Island.
Food was of a high standard, even in the Fountain View buffet. Food kept piping hot or chilled as appropriate and plenty of choice. We enjoyed the Gokan Asian restaurant which is not included in all inclusive. Didn't try the Stonegrill as we didn't fancy sweating over a hot grill! Aye in the Casa Bianca Italian twice. Food lovely but service very poor on 2nd visit. Margarine also visited twice, tasty food and good service. Unfortunatel last year we didn't have a great experience in the Tiran restaurant but decided to give it another go...another poor experience with my husband's meal sat on the pass for 20 minutes and arriving cold on the table.
Spent most of our days on the beach. Good snorkelling off the jetty.
Went on the VIP cruise with Thomsons which we highly recommend. Three snorkelling stop, lovely lunch and a great crew on board.
We believe that what makes this resort special and why so many people return is the excellent staff. Generally service was top-notch. In particular we'd like to thank Emad on the beach who worked tirelessly in the heat always with a smile on his face. Quickly learnt which drinks we liked at what time of day and just kept them coming without us even having to ask. He's a credit to the hotel. Also stand out service from Hadeer in the lobby bar, tall Mohammed in the piano bar with his surprise cocktails, Anwar(?) the lovely waitress in the Marharba and not forgetting Khaled in the Casa Bianca who was always so friendly. The staff work so hard and really make the holiday.
We were a bit disappointed in the Piano Bar entertainment compared to last year. We found the new pianist Toby and guitarist Ryan were not as talented as Tom and Jon last year and there was less interaction with the audience. It did improve towards the end when Toby was replaced by Judith who was very good. The Sensatori singers are talented and work hard to outgoings shows on in the Venue. We particularity enjoyed Bohemia and Disco night. We also thought the Lionel Richie tribute act was fantastic. It's a shame some rude holidaymakers ruin it for others who want to actually watch the shows by shouting at each other even though they are sat right next to them!
We also visited the Shisha tent on the beach which is not part of AI and cost us £15 for a Shisha and Bedouin tea. Saiid was a great host...lovely jubbly!
We used the adult pool a few times but you have to be there by 7.30am if you want a bed.
We did notice at the main pool that staff get paid to reserve beds in the morning for people who can't be bothered to get up early but they then remove towels off sun beds reserved by other people at 8am if they are not sat on them but leave the ones they have put on in place as they have been paid! This is not right and should be addressed my management.
Overall we had a fab 2nd visit. The weather is hot hot hot. The place is modern and spotless. We did notice some wear and tear setting in, such as chipped and stained furniture, bath towels and robes that resemble sandpaper and the beach towels seriously need replacing so hopefully these things will get sorted before they get to be an issue.
Would we return for a 3rd visit? Yes but the world is a big place with lots to do and see so we can't see a return in the next few years.
We would definitely recommend this hotel for a chilled break.

Dear clareandkeith,

Thank you for your review and also for your support. We are honoured that you have chosen to visit us for a second time and that you enjoyed your stay once again.

I am sorry that you have had another bad experience at the Tiran Diner. Rest assured the comments have been passed to the restaurant manager to review. Had we been made aware at the time we would have replaced the meal immediately.

I am sorry that you have also witnessed reservation of sun loungers. We are very sensitive to this issue, hence the implementation of our sun bed reservation policy. Hotel management is monitoring the situation closely to ensure the policy is being adhered to strictly.

Overall, I am pleased you have enjoyed your second stay and hope to welcome you again for a third stay in the future.

Regards,
Mohamed Shaarawi
