“Another Brilliant Stay”
Reviewed 22 June 2012

We first stayed at the Baron Resort in August last year and couldn't wait to book it again when we returned home. We stayed from the 1st to the 8th of April 2012. What was wonderful was that the staff remembered us from our first stay and even our round of drinks! We were greeted by a lovely hug and a smile from Marates upon arrival. Our room was beautiful as always and spotlessly clean.
The food was still exceptional as was the service in all the restaurants. We can honestly not pick a favourite as they are all wonderful in their own way and each staff member in each restaurant works so hard to ensure you enjoy everything.
It was lovely to see the wonderful Arme, Aziz and Wael at the beach bar and Omar at the pool bar. They never allow your glass to run empty and always have the time to chat with you even though they work so hard and are very busy.
The laundry service is exceptional. Not even brand new clothes look as good as your clothes do when they come back from the laundry!
I know I have only mentioned a few staff members here but all are truely exceptional and work so hard to ensure your holiday is as you wish it to be. Everyone from the gardeners and cleaners up to Mr Kahlid always have a smile and a hello for you and will chat with you any time.
Mr Kahlid we cannot thank you and your onderful staff enough for making our holiday so wonderful and memorable. I look forward to seeing everyone again on the 23rd of July.
Kind Regards Evonne and John (room 222)

After our second stay at the Baron Resort, we are pleased to tell you that everything was just as fantastic as the first stay last year. We spent another relaxing fortnight here, and enjoyed every moment. From the moment we were collected at the airport by the hotel transport to the time that we sadly had to leave, we were cocooned in sunshine, warmth and exceptional service. People will always find something to complain about on Trip Advisor (especially us Brits!) but truly this hotel is wonderful. Its staff work so hard, from the cleaners right up to the senior management - get up early for the morning sunshine and you will see them; and again late at night. The bathroom may be a bit dated but we love our room (we request the same one each time and the lovely front desk staff are so helpful in everything they do) and the Egyptian cotton sheets, bathrobes, towels and flannels are great. The public toilets are absolutely beautiful, with scented oils, laundered cloths and flowers - and each time you visit them, someone goes in after you and services them to ensure that they are perfect for the next guest - amazing.
The food is delicious, with a great choice for everyone. This is a high class hotel with no fast food and everything cooked from scratch - the Sinai buffet restaurant is candle-lit and Ibrahim is very efficient; the a la carte restaurants are also great; and you would have to be a really miserable person not to enjoy yourself in any of them. Special mention to the Egyptian orange juice - so sweet and totally natural. Also the bread selection - do try some of the different types (we love the pittas and also the brown loaves).
Seafood night is especially impressive (Saturdays during our stay), and the barbecued fish in the open air Oasis Restaurant is delicious. A mention must be made of the live music in that restaurant, it was so romantic and very professional - a big round of applause to both Mohamed the talented guitarist and also the Cuban couple.
Only two very small criticism from us - temperatures were very hot indeed during our stay, and sometimes the wine wasn't chilled; also a seafood starter in the Oasis restaurant at night which should have been cold was lukewarm and needed to have been chilled to ensure that it was O.K.
If you go to the Baron Resort, and I hope that you do, please book a seaview room (worth every penny) and also remember to thank those wonderful staff. Also, enjoy your free massages and laundry - so very professional and great to have.
We celebrated a special anniversary and received deliveries of sparkling wine and canapes/treats in our room - very much appreciated.
We hope to return when we have saved up again.

Room Tip: Top floor (3rd) with a sea view - worth every penny!

We have stayed at the Savoy Sharm many times and decided to try the Baron for a change. We stayed here June 11- June 18 2012. I was very aprehensive as you can imagine but Barons had such a good write up on here. We made a good choice. Our room was excellent, we paid for an upgrade to a bigger room as we had our 19 year old daughter with us. It was cleaned and linen and towels changed to a very high standard. All the staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. Spa was lovely I had the 2 hours body scrub, facial, massage, (thai lady) etc and it beat any I had at Champneys ! The restaurants are lovely, top was the indian, then the italian and the BBQ came in joint second. We didnt try the Egyptian and the Seafood, as we so enjoyed the others we went back for 2nd nights, we only stayed for a week !
The pool area is lovely, never any problem getting a sun bed the beach is just as nice, very large beach with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas you will need one !
If you are looking for a quiet relaxing holiday then Barons will give you just that. They could probably do with a little more going on in the evening as some people do like to sit and watch some quality entertainment but we were there in June so it may be that during more busy times that is the case. We spent our evenings, after our meal sitting at the Beach Bar, Ahmed was very lovely and always keen to make you one of his special cocktails, an Aaaaaamed cocktail always went down well ! We enjoy our day and eating out in the evening for a nice meal is more important to us than evening entermainment but it just a thought if you were looking for somewhere busy in the evenings this is not that type of hotel.
This hotel fully deserves its 5 stars, its excellent value money wise and we would most certainly recommend to anybody reading this review. We had a lovely relaxing weeks break which is just what we wanted :)

After visiting here last year with friends,we returned again with other family members for two weeks.it was even better this time round.as the previous couple of reviews have stated, you cannot fault anything.Mr Osama Ali is a legend, and all the staff are so friendly.too many to mention(Khaled,Amr,Mohammed,Apple,Marites, and the gardener with the biggest smile I've ever seen, etc)All the staff remembered us from last year, and couldn't do enough for you.We took advantage of all the included extras.free haircuts, massages and laundry.all shirts and t-shirts come back as if they have just been bought....individually packaged!I can't heap enough praise on Chef Aslan and all the catering staff.to produce the quality of food and standard of service on a daily basis,is sheer brilliance. The Indian and Italian restaurants are a must. You must be proud Mr.Ali.We have travelled to a lot of countries around the world, but find this hotel up there with the best.we even got the sunshine thrown in for free.See you all again next year.

My wife and I have just returned from a 10 day break at the Baron Resort in Sharm, and was so impressed that I am posting my first ever review on trip advisor.

The holiday did not start great though.... this is the first time we have travelled with Thomas Cook although for the last 20 years we have been fortunate to enjoy at least 2 foreign holidays a year.
The leg room on the flight was dire! I am 6Ft 3inches tall and for the first time in over 100 business and holiday flights was unable to actually sit in my seat. I spent the whole flight with my legs in and out of the isle (to let the trollies by), relieving the pain in my knees. I have never had so little leg room before and I now imagine what sardines in a tin may feel like!! The only saving grace was the flight attendants who were superb. I dreaded the return flight before we had arrived but due to scheduling we returned on a Monarch flight, thank goodness!!
The leg room on that flight was what I normally experience and I was able to enjoy the flight in relative comfort. We will never fly Thomas Cook again until they address the pitiful leg room they provide.

We arrived at the Resort and were greeted with a welcome drink and very efficient check in, our room was a sea view room and worth every additional penny for its size, view, and location. The bathroom was on the small size with only a shower and could do with a refurbish to the tiles, however as with the main room was spotless.
Our Housekeeper was brilliant we had fresh linen every day, along with as many fresh towels we wanted. We were on a Premier All Inclusive package and it is just what it says… free laundry, massage, internet, and more, no hidden extra’s!!!
We were told the mini bar (which was well stocked), would be replenished every day, we have been on other holidays were this was promised and often have had to complain or go without replacement drinks, this was not the case at the Baron Resort… every day it was restocked and if we wanted additional soft drinks or water had only to call reception and it was delivered.
Reda our rep was fantastic his local knowledge excellent and as this was not the first time we had been to Sharm, we knew everything he said was true and reliable, having had painful previous experiences.
We found all the staff at the Baron resort, to be very polite, and they could not do enough for you. We believe in treating people as we would want to be treated ourselves and showing some courtesy back to the staff costs nothing! We had read on trip advisor that customers had complained that they only got service when they tipped, we had no such experience being treated so well by the waiters, bar people and beach boys even the gardeners went out of their way to say hello and if you wished, have a brief chat. I believe this to be a standard held throughout the senior management down to the bell boys.

Mr Abdel hamid Ahmed, the general manger was everywhere, from early in the morning to late at night we saw him checking food, tables, glasses and the general appearance of the resort ,he was constantly seeking feedback from customers and dealing with any issues on the spot. He I am sure sets the high standards that the rest of the staff must achieve, and deserves a big thank you to him and everyone who works at the Baron Resort. It is difficult to single out individuals but Amr and Omar who worked in the Oasis restaurant / bar of a day and the Italian of a night were fantastic and a true credit to the Hotel, Mohamed who worked tirelessly on the beach and soapy our Housekeeper all made us feel special.

The animation is good but not our scene, the food in all the A la Carte restaurants was superb especially the Italian and Egyptian restaurants, the buffet was good, but it says a “buffet” and that’s what it means, catering for a wide variety of tastes and nationalities, but although I am a very fussy eater, I always found something to eat and nothing to complain about.

The gardens, beach, pool areas were very good, the sport activities brilliant. One major piece of advice get a “do not disturb” sign or you will be bombarded by people selling you all sorts of trips, trinkets and services and although polite they are difficult to get rid of.

We have stayed in a few hotels in Sharm including the Hyatt Club which was very expensive and not to the standards we experienced at the Baron Resort. All in all excellent value for money and we will certainly be returning for the first time to a Hotel that we have stayed in before in Sharm. Well done every one and thank you for a fabulous holiday!!

Room Tip: The sea view rooms are a little more expensive but worth it not just for the view but the increased...
