When I arrived, the room I was put in had many issues:
1) There were nesting pigeons on the balcony which means I was unable to sleep in the morning with incessant hooting. You couldn't shoo them away as they were protecting the nest.
2) There was an overwhelming smell of mould and feeling of moisture in the room
3) There was mould in the bathroom, embedded in the tiles in the shower
4) The pillows and bedding smelt of mould
It was completely unacceptable.
After complaining, and seeing the housekeeping manager I was moved to a club room which was much nicer, and I can report whilst still a bit mouldy in the bathroom, it was something I could deal with.
Unfortunately the hotel is mainly a function venue and night-club, and this meant that on almost every night there was noise that made sleeping impossible. The sources of the noise were numerous 1) the "bar" (music easily audible 6 floors above) 2) a wedding with a massive sound system in the pool area 3) a nightclub on the 6th floor, which despite apparently only operating friday, saturday and sunday operates other nights (eg. Thursday). 4 floors below this nightclub, lyrics are clearly audible and sleep is impossible until 3am.
The staff are largely fairly pleasant, the breakfast was O.K., but this a hotel to avoid.More
