Some 7 of us ( family and friends ) visited the hotel for dinner last weekend . Although not quite alfresco , the sides of the large dining hall were entirely open providing a soothing view of the vast expanse of greenery on which the hotel sits . In the heart of the town too ! A sight for sore eyes .
The food was good but not great . Worth a visit !

This is a heritage hotel in a historic building and as such is lovely. Although hotel is not terribly well maintained, the price is right. Would go again for an affordable option, but not for it's luxury. Restaurant is good.

Room Tip: Ask to see the rooms

We visited this place during a family wedding at the lawns of this Hotel. The building is more than a century old.

A large Hall with open areas adjacent to it are decorated and transformed into a Wedding Venue. Two standard rooms are allotted, one each for the families of the bride and the groom in the hotel premises.

The Room has two standard beds, couple of sofas with a centre table and wardrobe, The toilets are fairly large with modern fittings. Since the main building is away from the road, the noise from the traffic is faint.

Room Tip: Room overlooking the Gardens

Everything is available.
The AC, the geyser, the kettle, etc. But nothing works. The staff is all run by the mill ordinary, untrained people.
The bathroom is dirty infested with cockroaches. The water comes in a trickle. The hot water stinks of rust.
Everything around the hotel is vintage.
Not at all worth for the money paid.
A complete eye-wash .
The pictures on the Web are different than reality.

The hotel is spread over a vast stretch of land. Difficult to imagine such a huge space not far from downtown. The person at the reception appeared to be fresher and was at a loss to retrieve our booking. Also at check out he was struggling though room had already been paid in advance. Generally the staff appeared to be untrained and the property has poor upkeep and maintenance. Reading the earlier reviews we had booked a luxury room and were pleasantly surprised at size. Since toilet was dirty we were upgraded to a suite room which was really nice. The interiors were tastefully done and we even had a swing in the room. The breakfast really has limited choice and disappointing for the rate that is charged. The food generally in above average. As the property is huge we enjoyed our morning walk inside the property. The lawns seem to be popular for the marraiges and events as these were there every evening. Sad to see such a good property being so poorly managed.

Room Tip: The rooms facing the backyard garden have a better view
