Cottages are very good and comfortable for double occupancy . Bamboos are all around in campus. There is not much staff to take care of you. Much prior intimation is required for lunch and dinner. Breakfast is complementory with tariff. Bus tickets and buses for Periyar tiger reserve are nearby hotel. You can find lizards outside cottage wall and sometimes inside room as well.. nothing much exciting !!!

Too basic and not accommodating to foreigners. No phone reception, no internet, no towels in room and utensils at meals. For Indians on a budget. No foreigner friendly. In the park so easily available for tours.

We stayed in the hut in Bamboo Grove. We booked through the Periyar Foundation website. The place is amazingly beautiful. You may not find it luxurious, but all the basic amenities are ensured. It also gives a mix of romance and forest hardship when you stay there. Fully recommended for one night stay. Don't forget to go on the night safari if you are staying in the Bamboo Grove. The safari starts from the Bamboo Grove itself. During the day you can go for the boat ride and do several other activities. We also saw a herd of elephants and a baby elephant too.

Very beautiful resort in the centre of the forest. You can feel at peace when you stay here. Don't expect luxury here but there is a nice feel top the stay. We went for the forest trek and the forest officer was amazing. Truly had a memorable experience. Expect some monkeys around.
