We stayed at Vivanta by Taj – Hari Mahal, Jodhpur, during Diwali Holidays in October this year.
To our surprise, We were greeted at the entrance by Mr. Vijay Shrikent, General Manager and his staff.
Mr. Vijay showed us around the property and explained us about Jodhpur, its history and culture. Taj - Hari Mahal is beautiful property built based on local architecture and culture integrating the authentic architectural heritage with modern living. We were in for another surprise as we were provided with a suggested itinerary for our stay by Mr. Gaurav Kumar, the Front Office Manager. He was very helpful and suggested us on what to do, where to do shopping, where to eat local food etc. We really enjoyed High Teas served everyday at around 4:00 PM. It introduced and served local cousine. Tea and local food was very deliciously prepared. The best part was that all restaurant managers were visible and coming to your table - be it during breakfast or in the bar. Dileep Tiwari, Restaurant Manager was always visible and personally took care of the needs of the guests. The breakfast had an excellent spread everyday and we enjoyed it throughly. Compliments to Chef Mahipal Singh and Chef Mohan for preparing excellent Omelettes. Property has a small but nice spa and therapists are good. Our driver Gajendra was very hospitable and knew Jodhpur very well. He stayed with us throughout our stay.

The best part was the Divali night. There was a huge and excellent display of fireworks and crackers on roof top and each guest participated and gave us an experience of our own youth and childhood when we enjoyed Deepavali crackers so much. All guests enjoyed a lot.

It was clear that Mr. Vijay Pratap Shrikent has trained his young team well and they are going an excellent job.
Would definitely visit Jodhpur only to stay at this property again.

We stayed one night. Not having stayed at a Taj or Vivanta property, I did not know what to expect, although I suspected it was nice. I was pleasantly surprised just how nice of a hotel it was. Beautiful lobby and public areas and service from all the staff was excellent. The room was very comfortable, well-furnished and well-maintained. Food at dinner and breakfast was very good.

I would definitely stay again in the future.

Our overall stay was good, but the hotel lacks any atmosphere. The main restaurant is quite dated and in the evening it is brightly lit. By dimming the lights it would feel more cozy. However the staff were lovely and food was very very good.

What was really annoying was that if you wanted to sit outside for dinner, they force you to eat a huge set menu. I did complain as I didn't the indoor restaurant and they allowed me to eat from the a la carte menu.

The rooms were a little dark, but traditional and well maintained. The bed was not great and the pillows need to go into a refuse bin as they were that old and flat!!

We would probably not stay at a Taj Viventa brand again, it does not compare to the other Taj group.

Location of the hotel is fine, close to the town and very cheap in a cab or rickshaw to get around.

Room Tip: upgrade to a minimum deluxe

We were there for a whole four days. Mr. Vijay, the General Manager to Ms. Sreedevi, everyone was most solicitous and caring. A very warm Mr. Mahipal with his great meal offerings, which were fabulously appetizing. A very warm send off by Mr. Chawla from the front office with his very thoughtful present of a bag full of snacks and water for the drive back to Noida.
My only wish is that when we come next we are welcomed by the same people.

Staying at this hotel was a sublime experience, both due to the quality of the facilities as well as the professionalism and responsiveness of the staff. It was also wonderful to see women as well as men having leadership and management roles - and being visible to staff in this way. From the welcome on arrival to the thoughtful anticipation of needs to the restful sleep, complete with pre-sleep foot bath I cannot speak highly enough of this experience. The pool is divine for swims, the spa for a post flight massage, the food is excellent, the quality of the room is superb, the staff are attentive and engaging and the provision of business facilities makes it easy to work and do business, or to enjoy the many sights in Jodhpur. Don't miss visiting the Palace, it was a highlight.

Room Tip: You can't go wrong with this hotel - the rooms seem to be quiet wherever you stay
