I stayed in Madri Haveli three nights in April and I was very impressed. The heritage hotel is located in the city center and the lake and the sights can be reached in a few minutes.
I really like the hotel, because I got a very warm welcome when I arrived. The room was very nice decorated and looked like a room of a prince. The bed was very comfortable and the room was modernized with old looking decoration. I really liked it.
But the best thing in the hotel was the restaurant on the top. I could enjoy the view of the city and the food was wonderful. Very tasty! Shivam, the waiter was very friendly and did an highly professional job. He was very attentive, very friendly and did everything that every guest felt home. He celebrated the food and gave every good tips what to eat. Thank you a lot, Shivam. You are the best.

During our 6 weeks of travel in india we spent 2 nights at madri haveli. We won't forget the evening we had with shivam, the friendliest waiter ever. we spent a georgeous evening with delicious food and an amazing view from the rooftop restaurant of the hotel. Thank you again shivam for showing and explaining us so many things about "your" india! We'll keep in touch and maybe see u again :)

We stayed 4 nights here and loved it. Stylish, clean room. Kind and helpful staff. Fantastic location. We had a massage with Maneshi most days which was excellent. We also did the cooking class with Shahshi which we would highly recommend- hands on intro to Indian cooking and very kind people. We also did yoga with Prakash- fabulous guy and a great sense of humour given our very limited yoga skills! Do try eating at Khanna Ghani - enjoyed it much more than Ambrai. And for a coffee fix.... Edelweiss cafe is good.

Madri is squeezed in amongst similar buildings on a narrow, lively street. Some of the buildings are in the process of being repaired while there are some examples of those that are exquisitely renovated, like Madri. Then one gets the ruins that's dotted amongst them which adds to the old world charm if the area. During daytime there is the bustle of locals going ahead with daily business as usual in the narrow cobbled stone streets below. There is a constant buzz from motorbikes, horns, dogs, hawkers, cattle hearders, prair calls, temple bells, businessmen arguing, happy schoolchildren, foreigners getting ripped off and everything else. At about 8 or 9pm one can't here a mouse. Everything goes to sleep. The hotel is quaint, romantic, clean, quiet with beautiful bedrooms. It's conveniently located surrounded by everything you need, banks, travel shops, pharmacies and many restaurants with rooftops. The city palace is a 5 minute walk away. If ever I come back to Udaiphur, I will stay nowhere else.

Great hospitality headed by an extremely helpful manager coupled with professional staff makes this place a must stay.

Beautiful rooms are a plus point. Also, the place was quite nearby to all the places we wanted to visit.
