We stayed in Agra for two nights in October at the Taj Resorts hotel which is a satisfactory 3.5 star hotel that is fairly handy for the east gate of the Taj Mahal.
But wow, the Terrace restaurant on the top floor provided us with two memorable evenings of excellent Indian food and live music. Even if you are not staying at that hotel I recommend you go there for dinner - a very good choice of dishes at reasonable prices - you may be wise to book a table as the restaurant is not large.
Like many restaurants in India, wine is not readily available (so pre order when booking your table as they have to send out for it). Or just drink local beer - which is good and served promptly - you will have to pay cash for that (later) but the meal can be charged to your room (if you are staying at the hotel).
Mr Monu Singh (Executive Chef) takes a personal interest in your dining and will visit your table before the end of your meal (he also greeted us at breakfast - but that is only a basic Indian buffet meal). The band was really good - it has a great vocalist of (what we assume) is popular Indian music (6 nights a week - not Fridays). So now add on your visit to the Taj Mahal and also the superb Red Fort and you will come away from Agra knowing that you have had a wonderful experience.
