Owner description: The museum has a great collection of clay and bronze sculpture, paintings, silks and embroidered textiles.

This was an unexpected pleasure to visit. There is an excellent collection of sculpture and a truly exceptional display representing many schools of Indian miniature painting.
Had we had more time, we would have liked to see more of the beautiful university campus and I would have returned to study the paintings further - so many! so beautiful! so tiny!

Thank Lois B

Visited bhart kala bhavan during recent visit to national cultural festival at BHU. Great platform for artists to perform. Thanx to BHU who has given a big platform for such events and artists. It was great to visit historic Bharat kala Bhavan and see events happening there well maintained. Best of luck BHU for the future.

It is not as big and bold as the museum at Sarnath, but it is quite and simple located on Banaras Hindu University Campus. From here you can walk to the new Viswanath Temple in 15 minutes. OK it is a history and cultural museum, not for kids.

Well worth the trip with old and modern art and artifacts as well as a good overview of the founding of Banaras Hindu University.
