“Rejeki Ayung Rafting!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 May 2012

We went white water rafting on our last day in Bali. I am not much of a thrill seeker, and so was terrified at the thought. We went with a company called "Rejeki Ayung Rafting", on the Ayung River. Their normal price is $65US for adults, including transfers, lunch & showers. However, in our 2nd week in Bali we stumbled across a lovely tour guide who we used for absolutely everything from that day on. We have kept his contact details and will use him / recommend him highly. His company have a contract with the rafting company, and so if you go through him, it costs $30US per adult all inclusive and then the hire of him & his driver ($45 for 8 hours. The rafting takes only 2 hours, so for the rest of the time, he will take you wherever you want to go), working out at $105 for 2 adults with a whole day of exploring, rather than $130 for just the rafting.

Anyway, back to the rafting... a beautiful walk through rice paddies to the cliff at the edge of the river. The walk down the cliff is a bit tiring for those of us who aren't overly fit. Worth it once you get to the bottom though. The guides are lovely and talk you through everything before you all get in the raft. If you have a waterproof camera, take it! The scenery down here is just amazing! So untouched and beautiful. The rapids aren't very big, so this track is really good for beginners like me. I wasn't scared at all. We did get thoroughly wet, although we managed not to fall out of the boat. We were on the river for just under 2 hours. The walk up the cliff at the other end was absolutely exhausting and was the only part I didn't enjoy... Must get fitter before we go back!

Once back up the top, we were given towels and plastic bags for our wet clothes and were shown to the showers. After cleaning ourselves up and changing, we were shown upstairs for lunch, which was an Indonesian buffet. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our first ever rafting experience and would recommend this company to everyone.

“what fun”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 May 2012

We went fro a ong dive up the mountans where went had one of the best times in Bali. The guide himself had a lot of fun with us and kept on telling us that it is his first time and asked for help. But it turns out he has been doing this for years and never have had an issue.
The views and the easy going raft ride really set it all off I want to do again.

“Great fun, but beware”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 May 2012

I have been rafting numerous times while in Bali and I advise anyone going to ensure you go with a repuatble company and remember that this adventure has it's dangers. Our last trip with friends left us with broken toes, bruising and cuts when our raft flipped in the rapids and sent us hurtling down stream. This is the first time I have seen or even heard of people coming out of the rafts, but it was scary. The remainder of the rafts formed a line downstream and assisted just as practiced, so they are well disciplined if anything goes wrong. Just be aware that you must listen to the safety instructions and you are sometimes at the mercy of the water.

“Water rafting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 May 2012

Went to Telaga Waja River for rafting. Driver picked us up at 8am and we arrived at the river at about 1030. Whole duration is about 2hours. Its the dry season and the river was more bumpy and shallow. Our raft got stuck on top of a couple of rocks and the guide had to get off the boat to move us out.

The river is otherwise gentle and require min rowing. the last 5m drop was exciting! Booked my tour with Bukit Cilli at usd25 and paid 300k to have a cd of photos taken during the rafting. (have not seen the photos and hoping that it will turn out good.

The ending 400 steps of stairs climb to our lunch location was tiring though.

“We had an absolute blast rafting through a very scenic landscape!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 April 2012

We got picked up from our accommodation in Seminyak. The drive to the location took about 90 minutes.
On the way we stopped at a coffee plantation where we were able to taste different types of coffees and teas.
Once we got to our destination we had a short induction before the adventure begun. At a relatively small fee we had a video made that was later delivered to the hotel.
The rafting trip takes you through rice fields which make way to a steep valley in parts, past cascading water falls.
At the end there was a short climb up some steps to a restaurant for lunch, which was included in the price. Take some money for drinks and or to purchase one of the pictures that are taken along the way.
Valuables are placed in safe dry bags during the drip.
