We keep returning to this hotel. We think this is our 6th or 7th time here. What's so good? Well the staff are just brilliant, everyone from the reception to the pool staff to the room staff are lovely. Nothing is too much trouble. They are friendly, polite and remember your name. The rooms and bathrooms are large and have a private balcony. The bathroom has a bath and seperate shower. There is a bar fridge (with mini bar) and a TV, which has at least the news in English, there may be more English speaking channels but we don't watch TV much. The bed is quite firm but we sleep well and the all rooms have AC. The hotel is about 10 or so years old and the rooms in the original block are beginning to look a little tired, maybe a cracked tile or some very obvious re-grouting, but nothing major that would put you off. We loved having a drink on the balcony before heading out for the evening, it is so peaceful and the view of the pool and gardens is gorgeous. Restaurant food is very good and very reasonably priced. Breakfast is buffet style and is included in the room rate and has a good selection. Eggs are cooked to order. Breakfast is taken on the restaurant terrace with a view of the beach, which is just a few steps away. The pool area is lovely with plenty of sun loungers and pool towels available. One of the pools has a swim up bar. The hotel also has a spa and hairdresser. There are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance and the fancier restaurants in Oberoi Street are only a short taxi ride away. I know that everyone says how the Balinese are a lovely friendly people, but we just feel a little bit more special when staying at this hotel.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms are good as you don't hear people above you moving balcony furniture around and...

I am totally biased about this hotel. The service can be a little slow. The rooms are tired and the tiles are often cracked. But, for some reason, if you can turn off the critical eye, it is a little haven. The pool is beautiful and the garden is stunningly landscaped. The food in the restaurant is good and fairly prices. Oh, and the beach is about ten feet away. I have been coming to this hotel for 12 years. I have tried others in the area, with many more stars, but I keep coming back. For me, great value and a relaxing time.

My partner and I stayed in this hotel in October 2010 and this hotel showed us like a 5 stars hotel although it is only a 3 stars hotel. Breakfast by the beach every morning was fantastic and memorable. We stayed in the Junior suite overlooking the garden and on the ground floor. Usually in some hotels in Bali, I would worry about the mosquitoes in the ground floor, but this hotel has everything under control. They regularly spray the garden areas and the place is mosquito's free. We would like to stay there again this April during our visit in Bali.

This hotel is one of the better choices in the Legian area. It is actually not that old but things wether and look old pretty quickly in Bali. As far as quality of accommodation and service goes this hotel is very good.
The rooms are fairly well maintained and have all the features that you would expect. A two bedroom suite is a great affordable option for a family with a living room in between and french doors out to the pool.
The gardens in the hotel are stunningly beautiful and the 2 pools are integrated into the landscape. The owner of the hotel loves a bit of bling and decoration so there is lots of it; far too much really as every surface in the lobby and restaurant are covered in paintings and sculptures and decoration.
The spa is excellent. It is fully air-conditioned and super clean and the staff are very professional. It is more expensive than a massage on the beach but the clients who come here want something better. Facials, manicures and pedicures are really top notch and they have a very good hairdresser there as well.
The location of the hotel is fantastic. It is far enough away from the hustle, bustle and sleaze of Kuta yet walking distance to lots of great places to eat and shop. The front of the hotel faces a oneway street and the back faces the ocean.
In Bali you can pay a lot more and get a lot less.

Room Tip: S Block is quietest

This is a older style hotel on the border of Legian and Seminyak. My family and I have stayed here several times with many of our friends. We always have a great time and are greeted promptly by the staff. Desi is an absolute gem as nothing is too much trouble. We stay in the ambassador suites which suits our family of 5 sometimes 6. There are two main bedrooms with their own ensuites and balconies the interconnecting room is a lounge/dining room which also leads out to a balcony. The decor throughout the hotel is bold and ornate. The hotel serves a good breakfast, not a huge variety like at other hotels but always fresh and tasty. Good quality restaurants sit on either side of the hotel so plenty of choice for a evening meal. Swimming pool is always clean and lovely to swim in. Good value for money.

Room Tip: Ambassador Suites great for larger families or groups of friends.
