This was our first time to Bali. I won our holiday on our local radio station. We found the staff at the Wina Holiday Villa to be very attentive and helpful. We particularly enjoyed some wonderful massages at Wina Spa....the ladies there were fantastic....made us feel very relaxed. The pools were nice with swim up bars.
Our room was basic but very clean. Close to beach and shops all within walking distance. Taxis and drivers ready to take you anywhere you want to go if you dont want to walk. Good meals at the restaurant for dinner. Breakfast was included but we found it to be a little basic. There is a shop onsite where you can buy food and drinks and clothing along with some treasures to take home. All in all a good place to stay.

The location is great in terms of proximity to beach and the beach walk mall and restaurants and pubs.
It is located in a quiet area but yet close to the action. It looks nice when you are inside looking at the rooms from the outside. But once you enter the room they are in dire need of renovation. Very poor lighting, bathroom needs a lot of work, mirror has a lot of black spots every where. Many rusty nasty spots in the bathroom. They only give you one flimsy bath towel that is it. Our room had a big balcony ( you share balconies with other rooms) that faces the pool so that was nice. Breakfast buffet was big with an egg station, cereal, two types of toast white and brown, some local s dishes together with a couple of hot plates like baked beans and sausages, some cut tomatoes and cucumbers. Also a couple of fruit choices as well as juices. Tea and nasty Nescafé which is surprising because Bali has very good coffee!

The hotel is near the beach and the boulevard. It's a bit secluded but not that far away. It makes it a nice and quiet accommodation. It's a big hotel with lots of rooms. They vary in types and styles. We travelled by group so I guess we had the cheapest rooms. We did not like the room. It was old fashioned and very dark decorated. Also the bathroom was in poor condition and the toilet leaked. We asked them to fix it. They tried immediately but it got worse instead of better. Then we asked for a different room, they gave us one with no hesitation and it was a bit better indeed so we were very pleased. The direct environment is very touristic. The beach has wild water and therefore surfers are numerous present. We did not swim in the sea because it was recommended not to by attending lifeguards. The pool is good at the hotel. They have two pools. Breakfast is alright but gets boring quickly. Not that much choice in different type of food.

Very quiet Hotel which suited us. If you're looking for Party Central, it's not here. Beautiful gardens - very well maintained.
Large with two lovely clean pools.Staff are helpful & checking in & out smooth.
Cons: Wifi 'touch n go' - didn't really work in the room so went to the Bar/Lounge area where it was reliable. Sheets are old - need replacing (but clean), beds are hard (I asked for a mattress on top so staff put a thinner softer one on top for me), only supplied 3 pillows for the 2 of us & wanted $1 AU per day for another one!! (outrageous!)
Step up & over into high bath (no stand up shower), no hairdryer

Pros: toiletries, good selection for breakfast with egg station (no bacon), tea & coffee making in room, great TV selection - 60 Channels! Short 5 minute walk to beach. Shuttle bus several times daily to Kuta & Legian. 2 water bottles per day. Great A/c.

Not many Aussies at this Hotel - people from all over the world but mainly European.
There's a reliable money changer out the back gate & down to the end of the street - you can't miss it. Lots of cheap restaurants around this & surrounding streets too. The main Legian St can be reached if you cut through The Fourteen Roses or Adi Dharma Cottages.
Overall, a good hotel with the usual Bali things: the odd smelly drain; few cats wandering around, dreadful coffee, few mozzies.
Would return.

Room Tip: Near restaurant noisy. Ground floor better for elderly/older people as stairs steep (3 storeys).

I love the Wina. Have stayed here five times now. The staff are great. The layout of the hotel is superb. The restaurant and food are above average. The rooms are clean. Just a great place to stay. Great for families and is off the main strip which is great.
