we like the paintings, but most of the aquarels were damaged by moisture. The house of the Belgian painter and his Balinese wife is now museum along the cycle-track.

This is an OK museum. It is located just off the beach in Sanur. It is not well marked, but the locals in the little shops will tell you. This is the house where the Adrien-Jean Le Mayeur and his wife Ni Pollok. Everything was pretty much unremarkable. But it is not expensive nor does it take long to visit.

The Balinese government/ tourist board should really take more pains to take care of this gem hidden among the stalls along Sindhu Beach. Such a rich and provoking history that can be seen through the art, photographs and furniture left behind by the artist Le Mayeur and his wife Ni Pollok.

Admission is at 20000 IDR (as of Feb 2016). The place can be extremely hot and humid, which obviously affects the artwork as well, hastening its decomposition.

Some paintings have become old and faded, but the furniture with their intricate etchings and carvings, as well as the architecture are all worth a view.

The house was left to the Indonesian goverment for them to open it up to the public when his wife died..

The whole place is falling apart, half the paintings arent the originals (just copies) so have clearly been sold.. most of the furniture isnt still there and what there is... is rotten.. Barely any info on anything.. what does have info seems to be incorrect... "painted in oil" whens its a drawing...

it was lovely to visit but really shows how corrupt their government is... Where is the money that was left to preserve the house gone??? what is the entry fee money going on????
