Just back from our week at Puri Santrian. Arrived after been delayed at Melbourne (what's new) to a not so welcome reception by one of the male desk clerks, asked about our Beach Wing room which we had booked, and if there was a chance that we could upgrade (willing to pay of course) answer was no totally booked out ( which I find a bit hard to believe ) anyway so be it. After climbing 3 sets of stairs (40 steps to be precise) walked into our room, and was ready to walk straight back out. So small and dark and the bathroom is so outdated it's not funny. So I thought just suck it up girlfriend, your only here for a week and you hardly spent any time in the room anyway.
So besides that initial first thoughts, we found that the resort itself was really nice, just loved the day beds at the beach and the cabana's around the place for relaxing.
Especially loved the gorgeous ladies at the pool cabana where you can get a hours massage for only $10 AUS well worth it.
Also loved the free Yoga class in the morning before breakfast, this guy is amazing, and really understands and encourages the beginners that aren't really too good at it. (that's us)
Over all, the breakfast choices were enough for us as we aren't too fussy and the latte's were fine. Lunch was pretty ordinary, and they have the same menu for dinner ??? Try the Mezzanine restaurant out the front of the hotel, very nice and more variety, really enjoyed our meals there.
Have to have a giggle about the swim up bar, you order your drinks there and then they take off to go inside to make your drinks there, and eventually after awhile they bring them back to the pool bar, don't see why they can't make them there and then at the pool bar ? I know this is really so trivial but they sure do things different to us.
Would we stay there again, yes we would, but definitely not in a Beach Wing room or lesser value.
Loved the pools and especially the beach ( when the tide was in )
Have stayed at Legian, Kuta and Seminyak before, and definitely would rather stay at Sanur.

Room Tip: Not a Beach Wing room or one of lesser value, if you can.

I got a great internet deal and could not have been happier. It might be a little bit old but that just adds to its grandeur. The pool is SENSATIONAL and the staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. I would absolutely stay here again. My only negative - and its a small one, is that our room was up several flights of stairs and there was no life which was a bit annoying - but if that's the worst thing on offer - then I think we were pretty lucky. Would stay again in a flash!

Puri Santrian is a lovely luxury hotel. Location is great on the beach and the service was exceptional and always delivered with a friendly smile. There are a choice of pools especially if staying in the club rooms. We were "upgraded" from the bungalows to the club rooms, however I am unsure if I would consider it an upgrade. Yes we had access to another pool, but spent most of the time at the beach pool and on the beach anyway and the club rooms were much further away. Also a upgrade meant we were up three flights of stairs as opposed to a groundlevel bungalow. The club rooms were lovely and spacious however and I did not see the bungalow rooms so I cant compare the room differences.

Breakfast was amazing, with a fantastic selection of danishes, fruit, asian and american style offerings and great egg station.

While we loved the hotel, it was pricey by bali standards so be prepared to pay for the service. I think there are probably better value hotels along the Sanur beach strip. If you are happy to pay a premium though, you can't fault the Puri Santrian for service and quality.

Room Tip: if staying in the club rooms ask for a ground floor room, they open up on to the pool,

Had a wonderful stay at this resort, most staff were excellent. Our room was wonderful - we upgraded at book in to a club room - worthwhile if you are a teacher and need a break from children as no children in this area. Our pool was quiet and never had more than 4 people in it at a time. There are 3 pools here and lots of places to go for a quiet time, without lots of people around.
We found the female staff. Especially, extremely helpful - while the young fellas tended to want to be more social and less attentive to our needs. We discovered three fantastic small warungs to the left of the hotel along the beach- great food at great prices, fantastic view! Out along the street the Cat and Fiddle pub was also great. Will be trying here again!

Room Tip: If you don't have children with you - choose a club room.

Don't expect any feedback from management when you have a complaint, in the end it is locally managed.....
Our beach wing rooms (interconnecting) were tired and very dark, so not sure whether we were better of after an upgrade from garden wing rooms (I hope they are not worse?)
The breakfast is everyday the same, and if you come after 9am, the coffee tastes the same like the tea. Do not expect fresh juices.
The grounds of the hotel and the pool/beach side were nice, loved the bar on the beach.
The staff were very friendly, and if you don't mind lots of retired cloggies around you, this place is probably the best hotel you can get in Sanur at the moment.

Room Tip: If you need more updated luxury, go for the club or the deluxe rooms.
