My parents and I stayed in the 2 bedroom Villa Maia at Villa Agung Khalid and were blown away. From the start communication with Darren was easy and made check in smooth. We had our own driver, but they are able to arrange pick up as well. It's a little hard to find so they gave us the phone number and offered to have their driver come lead us in if needed. We didn't and found it even though we weren't sure we were headed the right direction headed way way back down the rural rice patty roads! But gps was dead on and got us there no problem. Once we were there we couldn't believe how wonderful the Villa is. It is just like the photos and is stunning and huge. There are two large bedrooms each with its own bathroom, a large living area, a good sized kitchen, and a private pool. You could easily make use of the daybed in the living room to sleep 5 people.

The on site restaurant is just around the other side of the property, but they'll bring it to your Villa if you like. They provide a cell phone you can use to call the desk. We planned to eat in the restaurant one night but changed our minds because it was raining and they accommodated us no problem. We enjoyed all our lunches in our Villa overlooking the pool. The doors of the Villa open wide so you feel outside. The food is among the best we ate in Bali.

The staff is wonderful and friendly. Agung took us for a walk through the rice parties which we really enjoyed. And the rest of the staff is there to cater to your every need. A special shout out to Kadek who is the sweetest girl and enjoys chatting to practice her English. But every staff member is great, really.

We also enjoyed massages on the little outdoor beds near the restaurant. I was a bit apprehensive when I saw how out in the open it was but they do pull the shades down so no one can see you!

The location is remote but that's just what we wanted. Ubud is very very touristy and very very crowded. A city center stay wasn't what we were looking for. Plus they will provide free transport to town and you can call for a free pick up with the provided cell phone. We planned on that but just couldn't bear to leave the Villa! After a busy week in Java and Kalimantan exploring, it was just what we needed. We will be back!!

Room Tip: Villa Maia is a bit more private than the other villas but it's a slightly farther walk from the...

We stayed at Villa Agung Khalia for two nights for our honeymoon. It was breathtaking. Everyone is so kind and accommodating. Upon check in they gave us a phone to use to request a shuttle into town, to place our breakfast order, and to order dinner. They even did laundry for us! On our first day we called at 8 am asking if they could book us massages for 9 am and they had everything set up for us. This beautiful villa is just outside of the hustle and bustle of Ubud, so it's very peaceful and quiet. I cannot stress enough how beautiful this place is or how kind and wonderful the staff are. Thank you to everyone at Villa Agung Khalia for making our stay so perfect. We will be back!

We were expecting more from the hotel as the reviews in tripadvisor says that the hotel is a top hotel. The hotel is not bad for sure not. It's ok but it's definitely not a 5 star hotel. For example when they cleaned the villa , it was clean but you could still find some places where it wasn't. The food was ok but the breakfast could be a little bit more. The portions are small and you have to ask always for the toast or milk which makes you feel very uncomfortable. The service is really nice but they don't know when it starts to annoy. Like selling their private tours. In total it's nice to stay there but its not more then a 3,5* hotel.

There is a lot to recommend about Agung's elegant villas, including the friendly, attentive staff and Mr Agung himself. They all looked after us so well, without being over bearing.
The villas are enormous with everything one needs to make a stay relaxing and easy. My villa had threes large bedrooms, all with spacious bathrooms, three peaceful retreat areas and two balconies to view the country side. It was also elegantly styled, very clean and equipped with two televisions and DVDs ( goodness knows why one would need these btw). The gardens are manicured every day, and it shows.
I arrived frazzled and tense, and unwound easily within hours of sitting in the garden by the pool listening to the fountains. The villas are private. There is no gym or bar, which was fine by me. Surrounded by rice paddies, the sound of running rivers, wildlife and nearby ducks is all one needs to unwind by the gleaming pool. I ate at the small restaurant and enjoyed the fresh, elegant food. I only ate the Indonesian menu, but there western faves were listed. The Indonesian breakfast became my favourite. I am definitely returning.

My family & I stayed in Villa 1 for 4 days & we were all blown away by how beautiful the villa & the surrounding area is.
The photos only show a fraction of how amazing this place is. The staff are so friendly & helpful, nothing is too much trouble.
The breakfast has a good selection as well as cereal, toast & fresh fruit.
You do not have to leave the property if you just want to chill as there is a restaurant on site & a laundry service.
Our time here was too short but it came at the end of 3 weeks of travel around Bali. I wish we had booked longer here.
The views are breathtaking & calming.
Just perfect.
