You need a long time to go through all the stalls in this market. it's huge and has everything you can think of from fruit and veggies, to clothing and handicrafts. You literally could spend hours here.

Every item is negotiable, never give the asking price and be prepared to walk away if you don't think you are getting a good price. You will surely find the same item at at another stall. When walking away the price will undoubtedly drop anyway. There are lots of good items to take home as souvenirs.

Opens at early 6am in the morning, but in these hours trades for fruits, veggies and flower offerings are at pike, mostly the local public is seen in number. As the day begins the trade for ubud artifacts takes charge. Every tourist attractions has some interesting souvenirs to offer, so that we can go home with some goods along with memories.

Ubud market is basically a flee market which offers wooden artifacts, wall hangings, dream catcher in such huge sizes like never seen before, handbags, clothes, footwear, fridge magnets, Keychain, surfboards, bali hand woven basket, glass articles etc etc etc.

We too bought many such handicrafts and gifts for friends and family. Shopping was never tiring, there is so much to offer. Yes one thing which you need to do is use complete bargaining skills, only then you can get pocket friendly items.

We went there during our trip to bali.
We could spend only 1.5 hours there and if you want to really shop you should spend at least 3-4 hours.

Good bargains are possible for eg., for a tshirt the starting price could be 150,000 rupiah, but you could get at 50,000 rupiah.

Not every item is great, but overall the quality of items are very good. Be careful while negotiating. Do not tell any price unless you are sure to buy from the shop. Do not buy from the first shop itself before you visit other shops. Spend time to research across many shops before you make ip your mind.

Maybe it is because I don't like shopping, but to me this is one of the most boring things you can do in Ubud. It is right in the center of town so it is sort of unavoidable, but unless you enjoy haggling over a t-shirt or seeing 1000 variations of 'original' Balinese key rings you can just ignore it.
If you like produce and vegetables and local life come at dawn and buy all sorts of tropical fruits and some cheap snacks to keep you going for the rest of the day.
