This place is just gorgeous. The grounds are so lovely and peaceful. It really feels like they thought of every detail to make this place as relaxing and authentic as possible.

My room (Shindu) was breathtaking. The terrace, the carvings, the bed...ahhh bliss. The cherry on the cake was my bathroom. It had a fish pond and a fountain in it. A fountain! A fish pond! In my bathroom! My favorite part of Ubud was sitting on my terrace (or even chilling in my private Garden of Eden bathroom) and listening to the frogs ribbit, the fishies splash, and gaze at the lotus floating in the ponds in the moonlight.

The staff are so sweet and accommodating. Nothing is too much trouble for them, and they are happy to help make arrangements for you for the shuttle, breakfast, tea, laundry, etc. When my friend left her passport behind, they found it within an hour of us leaving and even looked through the spa bookings to get her email and let her know asap. We really appreciated their diligence in tracking us down.

The location was great for us - a quick 10 min walk on the edge of the monkey forest. This was fine during the day, but at night we opted for the free shuttle or a cheap taxi ride from town to avoid any monkey/moped incidents in the dark.

I could go on and on, but I'll leave it to you to experience your own magic here. Matur suksma, Alam Shanti!

Room Tip: A member of staff took me on a room tour, and I can say that all rooms are special. There is no bad room here.

Alam Shanti is a great place to stay in one of the nicest areas of Ubud, just behind the Monkey Forest. It's a well-run and managed resort. Our room Indus, its bathroom and deck were all large and very well furnished. Breakfast, delivered to our deck each morning, was simple but good. The shuttle service into central Ubud was excellent.
We highly recommend Alam Shanti.

Alam Shanti was the first stop for our family (2 adults and 2 teenage boys) trip around Bali & Lombok.

The hotel was quiet and charming, the staff super friendly and we managed to easily see some of the sights of Ubud (Monkey Sanctuary is next door) by walking. Ubud is super busy with mopeds & cars so it was nice to find a hotel tucked away from the noise and congestion.

We stayed in Yamuna (large room that could cope with all 4 of us) which shared a pool with a neighbouring room. We had views over local rice fields and we particularly enjoyed the open air shower (don't worry it was private).

Thanks for looking after us Alam Shanti

Stayed here from 15-18 July. Cannot fault this place. Super friendly staff, beautiful grounds, great staff. We stayed in laksmi. Everything about this place was wonderful, the rooms, the grounds and the staff. Loved the breakfast on our veranda each morning. We can't wait to come back again, thank you so much :)

We are frequent travelers to Bali and have stayed at both Alam Shanti and Alam Indah, sister hotels not far from each other. We always choose the Alams because the staff are so friendly and thoughtful, the rooms are traditional, luxurious in a thoughtful, not over-the-top way, and it is wonderful to be in a peaceful neighbourhood but still in close walking distance to the shops and restaurants of Ubud. I can't recommend Alam Shanti highly enough. We traveled with 3 adult friends and 3 kids. Booked the upstairs and downstairs of one 'house'. The girls were delighted with their 'princess' beds with mozzie nets. There is aircon if you need it. Food is wonderful, breakfast was included with our room. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, who all have a great sense of humour and hospitality. Go!

Room Tip: All rooms are quiet, upstairs has views of rice paddies
