“Just as good as Tegal Sari and right next door”
Reviewed 4 April 2010

We have previously stayed at tegal sari but they were fully booked so we thought we would try Green Field. We had 3 different rooms over the 3 days we were there. Our sons had the cheapestr room in the original hotel which was really basic - dark, musty and a bit depressing. They then moved to a mid range top floor bungalow near the pool which was really gorgeous. My husband and I had one of the most expensive rooms - a top floor one in a bungalow overlooking the rice paddies. This was stunning - really big romm - luxurious bathroom and a lovely big verandah and bar area where we would all meet each evening for a cocktail or too and watch the sun set and the ducks go home with their owners - fabulous ! The staff are really friendly and the pool is devine. We think it was every bit as good as Tegal Sari and would return in a heartbeat :)

My husband and I agree, this is one of our favourite hotels we have ever stayed in. We have stayed in a few 5 star properties across Asia but this is the one we love. The view of the rice paddy fields is amazing. The property is small and intimate. Location is quite good, and staff are extremely friendly, but what we loved most is the decor. After much research we stayed in the Bale Cahaya, (part part of the Bale Adat section) which had the most stunning rooms. The owner is an artist and he certainly has wonderful taste when designing the rooms. We travelled with a 4 year old and 1 year old. Our 4 year old slept on the day bed (which was made up as a bed) and the baby slept in a cot. There was a fantastic out door kitchen and a stunning balcony area looking over the fields. I cant imagine anyone ever being dissapointed at this property.

Just returned from my stay here in Bale Pinget and was thrilled with my room to say the least. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful (Thank you ARtha and Feny).
The free transport around Ubud was excellent and the views were to die for from this hotel.
Am planning on booking this hotel again on my next visit to Ubud.

This was our second stay at Green Fields, and it was just as memorable as the first time (May, 2009). The staff remembered me, which made it feel even more personal, and nothing is too much for them to do, you just have to ask. There are some new rooms, which are now available, and Feny was kind enough to show 2 of them to us, and they looked fantastic.

This time we stayed in Bale Bajung, there was no day bed, which was dissapointing, but the view from the balcony more than made up for that. The location is a little bit of a walk to the main center, but a quick shuttle organised by the staff or scooter ride makes light work of it. The pool is great, not huge, but perfect temp for a morning swim before breakfast overlooking the rice fields with the infiinity edge.

The club sandwiches from the restaurant are awesome, and the fried eggs are just the best. The pancakes were smaller than I remember them from last year, but a quick walk to Pizza Bagus (best pizza and pasta), resolves my need for more pancakes. The only places we ate were at the hotel restaurant, Siam Sally and Pizza Bagus, all have such good food.
