As someone who eats halal, it can be quite tricky in a country like Korea - so I often just sub for vegetarian instead. Yet either way, it can be tough. So my family and I were super fortunate to have found this restaurant - vegetarian friendly AND with a clear "Muslim Friendly" sticker as can be found from the Halal Restaurant Week. A heads up for fellow Muslim travelers!
The place looks less like a restaurant and more like someone's house, but that is what makes it so comforting and a worth-while experience. Very traditional set up. The food is delicious - especially the pajeon (pancake). The host is incredibly friendly and eager to chat, and the other staff even explained all the dishes to my family who were unfamiliar with a lot of the side dishes.

Overall, great place, great food - one of the best eating out experiences I have had in Korea so far! :)

Really authentic restaurant. As a foreigner one would not consider entering but don't judge a book by its cover. It's a real Korean restaurant with separate rooms around a small open square. One sits on the heated floor at low tables. The menu is in Korean but the friendly host speaks English fairly well and explains how to eat the different dishes. The food itself: vegetarian bibimpap and a sort of green union pancake, with fresh ingredients, was perfectly prepared. And all of this for under 10.000 won a dish. A must do!

Ordered nice gimbpap for one portion and pancake, portion is huge.

The pancake and gimbab is awesome, especially the mushroom.

Thank you for the very good service from the English speaking ahjumma.

After reading all the 5stars review, I was rather excited to try it out. But there wasn't exactly really nice staff and I wasn't given a menu other than the ahjumma pointing to the menu in the wall.. And yes, I had a set meal for singles. I absolutely love the texture if the barley rice, the crunchy vegetables and their gochujang (spicy sauce). Finally met the English speaking owner when I was prepared to pay and leave.

Lovely place with very friendly staff. Since this restaurant is traditional you're sitting on the floor, so wear clean socks ;-). We liked the food a lot. The staff explained every dish and in case it's your first time, also how to eat it the Korean way. Would definitely recommend this place.
