We stayed in the Cliff Top zone and the view is just breathtaking.

The room is big but in desperate need of renovation. Everything is scratched, faded and a little too shabby. This room and entire resort has amazing potential if someone actually cared. Nothing is actually dirty inside, just old and worn out.

We got into the pool and straight out. My child commented that the water smelt bad. It really did. Two days in blistering heat and we can’t even swim.

Breakfast only runs from 7-9am. Don’t bother with the overland trek it takes to get down there, (think about the lay of the land in order for you to have the magnificent view), with very steep stairs. Instant coffee, over cooked grey scrambled eggs, some cheap sausage things and rice porridge. The rice porridge was the only thing to eat, really. Stay in bed!

The thing is, in comparison to other places in the area, you are not getting value for money, just a beautiful view, which is something you can find all over this area.

I write this with a heavy heart as I was so looking forward to coming back here again. I should have stayed in Kuraburi. It was far nicer there.

Friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. Beautiful and comfort bungalows. Comfortable bed. Wonderful surroundings, garden well maintained. Breathtaking views. Glorious nature on sight with superb Rocky Mountains! Good quality food at the restaurant with stream of water in sight.
Excellent staying.

The Cliff and River Resort certainly is an accurate description as the cliff towers above the resort while the river flows gently along the base of the cliff.t
It is isolated so unless you have your own transport, you will need to pay to get to the National Park entrance or elsewhere.
The reception area is a wonderfully designed Thai style building at the top of the site which also houses an excellent coffee shop-the best in the area by far. I do think, however, that the reception staff could appear slightly more interested! There is also a spa/massage shop.
The site is on quite a steep gradient and as you walk down towards the restaurant at the bottom, the chalet type bungalows are situated in such a way that they all give a good view of the cliff. Midway is a small swimming pool and rest area.
The restaurant overlooks the river and contains both outdoor and indoor tables. There is a comprehensive menu ( although not all the dishes, in our experience, will be available). Prices are not unreasonable and the food is tasty.
For anyone with mobility problems, it is possible to drive down from the car park by reception to the restaurant area.

Here is the mountain location of the rooms. From the reception you have to walk down pass swimming pool to your room. On the way down you will see nice view of the cliff at the front of you. The place to eat located on the side of the nature canal ,breakfast buffet from 7:00-9:00 am. And restaurant open from 11:00 am.-20:00 pm last order should be 19:30 pm. In the morning you will have a good feel with sound of Gibbons and small insects there also good weather with Fog surrounded.. after breakfast you can enjoyable canoe, tubing or massage should be book in advance.
All staffs here so very friendly and helpfully with good service mind.
12 km. On the road 401 From Khao Sok center where the tourists place in the area of Khao Sok village. There you can have time to do hiking or trekking in the Khao Sok national park. Entrance fee 300 THB per person. Then can enjoy food at the restaurant side of Sok canal or have nice dinner and good bar over there. Another choices that looking for any tours , motobike rental, any transportation to Krabi airport, Krabi town, Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Phanga , Phuket etc.

The good things first:
- restaurant is not expensive, personnel was friendly and helpful.
- diner/lunch food is good
- GREAT views
- rooms (houses) large enough

Then the rest:
The hotel presumably has been better (reading other reviews), but our family room was in a run down state. Nails sticking out of the wood, broken gate, broken chairs, broken toilet seat, red (blood?) stains on the sheets the first night. The kinda open to the outside bathroom smelled like a sewer sometimes.

Only standard towels are provided, no hand towels/pool towels etc.

The hotel is located in the middle of nowhere, thus you have to have transportation yourself or rely on taxis. The hotel tries to charge 800 baht for a taxi ride into town (10km away)...
Tip: most nearby activities do hotel pickups.

The pool is more like soup: hot water and lots of 'ingredients'. Wonder if they actually clean it, or let at least the pumps run.

I understand English is not your native language (mine neither), but somehow I expect at least the reception area to have at least a small hint of English understanding. Very difficult to arrange a tour or something, they basically just point to the overview paper.

We didn't regret staying here, but were glad it was only for two nights. Which it's fine for.
