The hotel is very nice with good views and good facilities like the swimming pool. The fourniture in the room was old but we liked it anyways. We booked 2 massages but there was a problem in the coordination between reception and the spa. Finally we could not get this service due to overbooking and we waited in the hotel just for these. Luckily we went to the downtown and we found and excellent and cheap house of massage. We found strange this missunderstanding between reception and the spa and there was any compensation for this bad service. The breakfast was very good and the service in the shop and the bellboys very good.

We had a very nice stay at this hotel. The hotel representative meet us at the Chiang Rai airport and drove us to the hotel upon arrival, which was really nice. We checked in and were greeted with a nice glass of juice. The rooms were really nice, but unfortunately we weren't able to use the pool the night we checked in because the pool closes relatively early (730 pm). However, the fitness center made up for it and is open from 7 am to 8 pm and includes quite a good bit of equipment to be able to get a good work out in. Also, the daily breakfast was delicious and had a vast array of different food options available.

Stayed here twice as a family. We love Chain Rai but getting a luxury hotel near City is difficult. Dusit is in the river and a 5 minute drive (really need a car) to city center. Hotel a little old these days but very peaceful. A little to quiet as not many others staying.

This is a larger and bit outdated hotel, about a kilometer outside Chiang Rai. You need a taxi or tuktuk to get to and from the city.
While you see that once, this must have been a majestic, luxury resort, it now starts to be outdated, and could use a renovation.
The hotel lacks cosiness, charm and warmth.
The rooms are quite big, with a thick carpet on the floor. The bathroom is outdated and needs renovation.
The swimming pool area is a bit abandoned, and had only a few loungechairs and some plastic chairs and tables. This can definitely be improved.
The breakfast is served inside, and quite oriented towards Asian food.
The prices in the bar and restaurant are quite high. Better go to the city of Chiang Rai. If I would go back to Chiang Rai, I think I’ll prefer a more cosy hotel closer to the city; which is probably better value for the money.

Room Tip: River / pool facing room (avoid parking view)

If you want to know Thayland you must go to Chan Rai - Mekong River, border with Laos and ex-Birmania.... And Dusit is definetely the place to stay, Nice rooms, huge pool, live music at night, good restaurant.

Room Tip: ask for river view
