I have been hosting student and adults to Thailand for many years and the Dusit Island Resort just a short walk out of the centre of Chiang Rai is my choice of accomodation.
This resort is a wonderful place to stay while enjoying the many attractions in this unique area of northern Thailand. There are so many things to do in the North and you simply can't get a more suitable resort.
The breakfast is superb and the locally made Thai coffee is outstanding. When I travel with my groups we always try to stay in for dinner because the buffet selection is not only amazing but also many organic options are available. The hotel is a leader in organic sustainable foods and fruits.
To wake up to the views along the Kok River is a joy. I also won't to make special mention of the staff at this hotel. There is something very special about the sincerity of all who work at the Dusit and you really feel so genuinely welcome. Don't miss the opportunity to stay here and re think your time maybe add on a few extra days, you will fall in love with not only this resort but the area.

I recently stayed here for a couple of nights. Comfortable bedroom, splendid public rooms, dining room, helpful staff and an excellent breakfast. Great location for accessing the town and it's night market.

In November 2016, I took a trip to Chiang Rai is a city in northern Thailand, in the mountainous province of the same name. They city is near the borders of Laos and Myanmar (formerly Burma). We selected the Dusit Island Resort because it was one of the best hotel in the city. It was long ago.
We got a Deluxe Twin room facing the pool. To be honest, the size of the room is big but the decor is outdated and old. The Dusit Island Resort Chiang Rai need renovation and a lift up.
The breakfast was good but I got better at other Dusit Thani location. The staff are robotics and not very helpful. I am not sure that I will go back to the Dusit Island Resort in the future.

Room Tip: Pool size offer a better view

This hotel is very impressive. The breakfast was rich with a lot of variety of cheese, eggs and more. The view is amazing. The river is close by and the mountains all around. The staff are very helpful and smile all the time.
