Indeed the better place to be. Very very nice restaurant with selected quality food and assorted wines. The views are spectacular. A tour around the vineyards is possible by car and also on elephant back. You do need a car to go there. It is about 40 km from the center of Hua Hin. As far as I am concerned was this place the highlight of my trip to Hua Hin.

We drove out to Hua Hin Hills Vineyard for lunch and were favourably impressed. The Sala where you eat is raised to give lovely views over the vineyard from its many balconys and we agreed how like a New Zealand vineyard experience it was - if you didn't notice the two majestic elephants pacing through the vines, giving rides to visitors!

The wine was very palatable. We began with glasses of Monsoon Velley Blanc de Blancs, dry, not quite up to a prosecco, but very drinkable. I then had a glass of the Monsoon Valley White Shiraz, a fruity but not sweet rose, which I enjoyed very much. My husband was not quite so impressed with the white Cuvee De Siam, but on the whole the wine surpassed our expectations.
Food was rather a 'mixed bag'. We were tempted to have the tapas matched with glasses of wine, but in the end shared the generous and delicious platter of Thai starters and a rather ordinary caesar salad, follwed by rather small main courses of salmon and pasta with seafood. The latter was delicious but so spicy I felt it interfered for some time with my appreciation of the wine!

Service was friendly and efficient. We arrived before noon and had to go in at once if we wanted a table, so next visit we will book ahead and take a walk along the wine trail first. Yes, it is rather expensive compared to other eateries in Hua Hin, but we thought it worthwhile for the setting and ambience.

But come for the food, not necessarily the tour. The vineyard should look great in full bloom, but the view is nothing to shout about mainly because the supposed tour guide is actually the same person serving us in the restaurant. And for the price we've paid for the tour, we're expecting a winery somewhere instead of seeing a poor weary elephant working behind the scene. We hope that something educational will be carried out soon for the visitors or else this beautiful place would only leave a bad taste in the mouth.

Enjoyed our visit here, the frozen red curry with lobster was great. Wine very good too. They could do something about the flies which did detract from our enjoyment somewhat though. Worth a visit.

We weren't expecting to visit a vinery in Thailand and what a very pleasant surprise this was! The food was excellent, although a little more expensive than most dining in Thailand, but it was really worth it. The view from the balcony was lovely. It was nice to sit outside in the cooling breeze and look over the vineyards as we ate our lunch. The service was exceptional and the food really yummy. We will definitely visit here again when we go back to Hua Hin, and hopefully the elephants will be back again by then.
