My husband and I had our honeymoon in Thailand. We stayed 2 weeks in Patong and our last week was in Putaharasca and It was exactly what we needed. This place is unlike any other I have ever been to. We upgraded our room from s sandsky villa to a pool villa which is the best room in the house and It is truly magnificent and worth every single penny.

It is so unbelievably romantic and relaxing. It was just what we needed after week of excitement in busy bangla road…we completely decompressed here.

The food is divine!! We ate Khao phad daily the 7 course Christmas dinner was marvelous compliments to the chef. The staff is beyond excellent. Every single person we encountered was fabulous especially Kwanta our villa host she made sure everything we wanted was possible overall the Service is top notch.

The spa was good a little small, but I do reccomend while you stay you must try pilates or yoga on the beach complete bliss!

The fighter fish in the room were a lovely decoration and the villa was fully equipted: indoor jaccuzi, steam room, outdoor hot tub and pool with a mini bar full of goodies.

Thanks to all the wonderful staff at Putahracsa especially Kwan and we hope to see you again next year. We will definitely be back!!

We spent a wonderful 14 nights here. On the poitive, the staff as noted throughout the reviews are warn and very welcoming. Attention to detail is exceptional. Rooms are spacious, if a little tired in places but that adds to the charm. Food is very good at both sides of the road. Dinner Oceanside is wonderful and the staff are extremely attentive. Sadly, so too can the mosquito's, but that is quickly addressed. There is very little that could be improved with the hotel.

If you fancy a change from eating in, try turning left out of the hotel and take in any one of the beachside restaurants further up the road. Very good value for money and the food is excellent.

The night market is good if you want to experience a hectic nightlife. But the food is pretty basic. The restaurants I've mentioned, left out the hotel are better and cheaper! The local shopping centre is good and there is pretty much everything you need.

Any suprises? Be prepared for real Thailand is the simple response. If you are prepared for that, then you'll have a wonderful time all round. A few things we picked up. We would not recommend swimming in the sea, that could prove quite hazardous. About five hundred yards up the beach towards the quay and open sewer meets the sea. Very unpleasant and quite well hidden! The staff are out most mornings clearing the sand, but all the same, the smells can be quite hideous. Rats are common place at night in the town and dogs roam in a very very poor condition, that wasn't nice to see.

Sadly whilst we were there, a young child ran in it's excitement straight through the patio window in one of the poolside silksand rooms and was quite severely injured. Parents be aware, the patio doors are not double glazed nor is safety glass fitted. According to staff, it wasn't the first time it had happened. Be careful.

There is high speed internet provided free. We took our laptop and were attacked by some pretty heavy viruses that fell into the High Risk category. Wouldn't recommend use until they get on top of that problem, unless you are confident with the Virus software of course.

Please dont be put off by some of the things above, just be aware of them. It's a great Hotel with wonderful staff. You will not meet nicer people I'm sure

On arrival we were greeted with ice cool drink of herbal tea and a cold face cloth by the pleasant helpful staff, they could not do enough for you, that lasted throughtout our 14 nights stay. The General Manager Mr. Franck is 'hands on', his staff are well trained and all look happy in their work. We stayed in the 'SILKSAND ROOMS', they all look over the pool and are very quiet. Putahracsa is well located, its only 5-10 mins walk into the centre were all the good restaurants are or you can get the curtesy 'tuk tuk' who will drop you off anywhere in the centre.
Breakfast was second to none, you can eat under a parasol on the terrace overlooking the pool or in the dining room. We met a couple staying at the Sofitel, on comparing notes the Putahracsa was better.
When we visit Hua Hin next time we will have no hesitation but to stay at the Putahracsa again.

We arrived at Putahracsa after a drive from Bangkok Airport. Initially there was confusion as to which side of the road our hotel was, as Putahracsa is based on both sides of the road. The security guard contacted reception and after some walkie talkie action between the staff we were directed to the same side as reception. We were offered the opportunity to upgrade to the next room type for £40 a night, we viewed the room which was located across the road on the beach side, it was very large and had an outdoor tub, but as it did not have seaview and were only there for 2 nights we couldn't justify upgrading, so we stuck with the Silksand room which was also large and had a large balcony overlooking the pool, the only glitch was having to step onto a foot high wooden block to get in and out of the bath to have a shower. We stayed on "our side" of the resort for the duration as we did not have any reason to use the facilities across the road particularly as the beach was "NONE" as it is for most of this part of Hua Hin.

We found staff to be very professional and courteous, greeting us every time we passed them. They were very helpful and made enquiries on our behalf. The hotel manager always asked us about how we were enjoying our stay.

The hotel location is good. It is around a 10 minute walk to the centre, although if you're not feeling to energetic the hotel provide a free tuk tuk into town.

Breakfast variety is good, with eggs made to order.

Internet is available in the library.

The resort is quiet where you can spend nice evenings on the bar terrace enjoying decent wines, cocktails and beers. The guest type is mature, including young couples and families, golfers and their partners.

We found it unusual that the hotel charged for some activities such as aqua aerobics and yoga, not that I had any intention of exercising while I was on holiday! The charges were quite high as they were for the spa too. There was a Thai massage place across the road, where you can have a massage from blind masseurs at a reasonable price - we didn't get a chance to try.

To book a taxi back to Bangkok, prebook from the booths in town, they charged us THB1600 opposed to the THB2800 we paid to get to Hua Hin.

Mmm what else? There is a tailor shop across the road where my husband managed to get two pairs of jeans turned up for £1 a piece!

Hua Hin town is lovely, with many great restaurants. Avoid the first restaurant Rod Thai as my husband ended up with semi cooked prawns and when he complained the manager didn't seem surprised and said they had received many complaints that evening and will speak to the chef...to be frank I don't think he cared as they seem to attract a full house of tourists being the first restaurant on the street, I doubt many people return. The neighbouring restaurants are equally busy and we enjoyed lunch and dinner at these.

Putahracsa is a very contemporary clean and lovely hotel, this time we stayed here based on reviews opposed to the Sofitel and Marriott where we stayed on previous visits. I do recommend it as it is certainly intimate, welcoming and comfortable which some of the larger hotel chains can lack. Though I would wonder if it is suitable to keep you entertained for longer stays.

Thank you Putahracsa for making our stay in Hua Hin a pleasurable one.
