This resort is not praised without reason. As me and spouse have been travelling quite a lot Putahcrasa offered us something new. Actually within 24hours from arrival the hotel felt like home...I cannot find particular reason for this but I have say tuning of the resort by Unique Collection is truly professional.

Whole chain of services where there if you need them but never pushed to you. What really strikes is the way some things are just there without asking...I was a bit unsure whether someone us observing us or how did they know I want more complimentary water or new towels etc. Good but scary stuff =)

Breakfast and other restaurant services very good, The Oceanside restaurant at the beachside excellent.

Stayed here in feb 2010 for 2 nights in a Ocean bed villa. Rooms are very spacious, decorated comfortably with 2 balconies, the front balcony opens to a view of the sea, the back balcony opens to a jacuzzi .
On arrival, we were greeted with welcome drinks (water melon juice) and some chinese fried dumplings.
I would say this is a 4 star boutique resort. The resort itself has 2 sides, one side has beach access (only ocean bed villas) , and the other side (normal rooms and sand sky villas) has no beach access and was accross the road. On the beach side, teh swimming pool is quite small. And we stayed on a weekend which the hotel saw nearly 100% occupancy so we felt quite cramped at the pool.
The service is standard. There was only 1 person at reception, who was often not there. When we checked in, there was no one at reception that we had to call teh resort no. to get their attention. Also when we lost our key and was looking for staff, there was no one at reception, and had to wait over 5 mins.
The food is also standard 4 star hotel. On the beach side, the service at the restaurant is slow and teh food was so so, but the view is beautiful as it opens right on the beach. On the other side of the road, the other resort restaurant was much better.
This place is good if you want to stay only in your rooms (as the rooms are well decoated and comfortable). Overall, we had a comfortable stay, but would not go back, as found it a bit too small and cramped. Not very private.

This a lovely small boutique resort. The resort is split on two sides of a main road – there is anyways a man from the hotel on duty to help you cross the road . On the Beach side there are the more expensive villas, the Oceanside Restaurant and a lovely sun bed area looking out over the sea with a nice pool. Although we were staying over the other side of the road we came and sat the beach side most days as it was a lovely outlook.

On the other side of the road where we stayed there were the poolside rooms (called silksand rooms) which are either ground or first floor all set around a lovely larger pool. There are plenty of comfortable sun loungers both sides of the road and we never had a problem getting somewhere to sit.

Our room was ground floor, lovely big room with a terrace containing a settee to lounge on. There were all the normal amenities in the room – TV with European channels, DVD player etc. The room was cleaned thoroughly every day. The only thing wrong with the room was in the bathroom it was really quite difficult to get into the shower which was over the bath, you had to step onto a wooden step and then into the bath. I think that older people might have difficulties with this. Also it may just have been our room but the temperature control of the water in the shower was almost impossible to get right.

All the staff were polite, friendly and helpful. The manager is very much in evidence and was very pleasant.

The resort is about 10 mins walk into town and it is fine. Although we did always spot a few large rats on the way from town to the hotel, We tended to get the hotel tuk tuk down and walk back. There was one of the tuk tuk drivers who got a bit stroppy I think that this was because we hadn’t tipped him. Staff on the sillksand rooms side of the hotel always appeared to be more attentive, which may have something to do with the manager being normally based that side of the hotel.

The main disappointment was the beach. The hotel makes no effort whatsoever in attempting to make use of the beach. I was told it was due to the tide coming right up to the edge of the hotel, and therefore being unusable. This was correct, the tide left an amount of rubbish and debris every morning which spoilt the outlook. On one ocassion only did I witness a staff member half-heartedly picking up rubbish from directly in front of the hotel, otherwise it was just left.
Where to eat – we eat a few lunches in the hotel – same lunch menu both sides of the road. The quality of the food was of a high standard, although the portions are not huge but fine for lunch. The food & drink prices in the hotel are obviously higher than outside but still reasonable. We didn’t eat in the Oceanside Rest in the evening so can’t comment.

We however, eat in the following restaurants – Rashnee Silk Village Restaurant (next door to the hotel) - this was good standard Thai Food in a nice restaurant. I would recommend sitting inside the building away from the outdoor section next to the road as it quiet and slightly cooler. Staff are extremely good.

Coco51 (left out if the hotel, then right to the seafront) – absolutely awful, overpriced rubbish, don’t go there, Arrived one evening with high expectations, great location, right on the edge of the sea. There was an open kitchen on view to diners, which looked great. On arrival, I was met by the head waiter who immediately attempted to sell me tickets an overpriced Valentines evening the following night. I informed him that I would wait till after I had eaten before deciding whether to take up his offer. We were then escorted to dark table illuminated by a small candle. Five minutes later, when the drinks arrived, the same waiter returned and asked if I had come to a decision about the valentines evening. Again, I told him that I would wait until after the meal.
Staff brought round portable florescent lights so that menus could be read, but removed them straight afterwards as they are in such short supply. First course of squid was like chewing gum, and the main course of fish ginger and spring onion had only three small pieces of fish in the dish. Disappointing, as you can see where the fishing boats unload their catch from the restaurant.

Lung Ja (Night Market) – We had fresh Tiger Prawns and Squid and Mixed Sea food Tempura – fantastic, brilliant fish and reasonable, lots of local Asian tourists. on the edge of the busy night market very hot and busy but has to be experienced.

Changs (Seafront built on prom into the sea right in the middle of Hua Hin Town) very good fish and again reasonable prices. Good place to go for lunch.

Little Orchids – (Seafront right in the middle of Hua Hin Town) – ok, nicer setting but bit over priced.

We also went into the Mondo Vino Wine Bar (out of hotel turn right and a couple of buildings down). Really strange place to find in Thailand. Basically an upmarket Italian Wine Bar selling lovely wines (you can also buy bottles to take home. You get a really nice small selection of anti pasta free when you buy a glass of wine.
Very strange choice of business in this location but it is lovely place with great wine and imported Italian snacks. Worth a visit, while its there.

My husband and I had our honeymoon in Thailand. We stayed 2 weeks in Patong and our last week was in Putaharasca and It was exactly what we needed. This place is unlike any other I have ever been to. We upgraded our room from s sandsky villa to a pool villa which is the best room in the house and It is truly magnificent and worth every single penny.

It is so unbelievably romantic and relaxing. It was just what we needed after week of excitement in busy bangla road…we completely decompressed here.

The food is divine!! We ate Khao phad daily the 7 course Christmas dinner was marvelous compliments to the chef. The staff is beyond excellent. Every single person we encountered was fabulous especially Kwanta our villa host she made sure everything we wanted was possible overall the Service is top notch.

The spa was good a little small, but I do reccomend while you stay you must try pilates or yoga on the beach complete bliss!

The fighter fish in the room were a lovely decoration and the villa was fully equipted: indoor jaccuzi, steam room, outdoor hot tub and pool with a mini bar full of goodies.

Thanks to all the wonderful staff at Putahracsa especially Kwan and we hope to see you again next year. We will definitely be back!!

We spent a wonderful 14 nights here. On the poitive, the staff as noted throughout the reviews are warn and very welcoming. Attention to detail is exceptional. Rooms are spacious, if a little tired in places but that adds to the charm. Food is very good at both sides of the road. Dinner Oceanside is wonderful and the staff are extremely attentive. Sadly, so too can the mosquito's, but that is quickly addressed. There is very little that could be improved with the hotel.

If you fancy a change from eating in, try turning left out of the hotel and take in any one of the beachside restaurants further up the road. Very good value for money and the food is excellent.

The night market is good if you want to experience a hectic nightlife. But the food is pretty basic. The restaurants I've mentioned, left out the hotel are better and cheaper! The local shopping centre is good and there is pretty much everything you need.

Any suprises? Be prepared for real Thailand is the simple response. If you are prepared for that, then you'll have a wonderful time all round. A few things we picked up. We would not recommend swimming in the sea, that could prove quite hazardous. About five hundred yards up the beach towards the quay and open sewer meets the sea. Very unpleasant and quite well hidden! The staff are out most mornings clearing the sand, but all the same, the smells can be quite hideous. Rats are common place at night in the town and dogs roam in a very very poor condition, that wasn't nice to see.

Sadly whilst we were there, a young child ran in it's excitement straight through the patio window in one of the poolside silksand rooms and was quite severely injured. Parents be aware, the patio doors are not double glazed nor is safety glass fitted. According to staff, it wasn't the first time it had happened. Be careful.

There is high speed internet provided free. We took our laptop and were attacked by some pretty heavy viruses that fell into the High Risk category. Wouldn't recommend use until they get on top of that problem, unless you are confident with the Virus software of course.

Please dont be put off by some of the things above, just be aware of them. It's a great Hotel with wonderful staff. You will not meet nicer people I'm sure
