Thipurai Beach Hotel & Thipurai Beach Hotel Annex

This hotel's magic ingredient is their exceptional staff. Endless smiles, warmth, quiet efficiency and always going the extra mile made our 7 days here special. Thipurai Beach is located in a quiet little side street filled with small coffee shops, restaurants and bodegas, off the main road but close to the various markets, station etc. It's very easy to get around Hua Hin by catching one of the frequent busses at the end of the road, and the beach is a stone's throw away. Our room was clean and neat, we made full use of the little fridge and balcony and enjoyed plentiful hot water in the spacious shower. It was very comfortable and gave us everything we needed, and we recommend it for anyone on a budget looking for a quiet, comfortable and centrally located spot. In a land of friendly smiles and helpfulness, we believe the Thipurai Beach team stand out.

Thipurai beach hotel is located a five minutes' walk from the beach on a quiet street, full of restaurants and guest houses. It is a very clean, well kept and good managed hotel with generously dimensioned rooms, a nice balcony, TV, refrigerator and a comfortable bathroom. The breakfast buffet is excellent and worth its price (200 Bhat per hotelguest or 250 if you come from outside). Towels are provided for the beach. It sometimes happend that that the cleaning staff will not provide you with shampoo/soap or clean towels, but you can ask for. The price for a double room is convenient. Many guests from Scandinavian countries (families with kids). The hotel is very quiet, the sleep quality is excellent.

Well, what can I say? Murphy's law does exist and always steps in when you don't want him to. We boarded a train from Nakhon Pathom to Hua Hin. Being a western tourist the price of the ticket is always slightly higher than for the locals. I got a ticket for an aircon carriage with comfortable reclining seats, at 126 Baht per person(about $5 AUD). Here I am thinking that I can travel in cool comfort from the heat.

Now this is where murphy's Law decided to step in and comes into effect. The train was due to depart at 14:36h. Due to "technical" difficulties we ended up in Hua Hin 4 hours late.Good to know you can still count on the railway system.

Oh yes, the cool comfortable airconditioned carriage being ceiling fans at full throttle and all the carriage windows open. At least the seats were comfortable and not the usual hard wooden seats that you normally get,..........and they did recline. We met a nice couple travelling together, the guy was from France and the girl was from Germany. At Hua Hin, we teamed up to share a taxi (local type) to our respective hotels. Be aware that the price is around 150 - 200 Baht ($5-$6 AUD) for the taxi fare. Any more than that then you are getting ripped off. The metred Taxis are your best bet and are far cheaper within the Hua Hin city.

The taxi driver we had was very good and spoke English. He took us to a hotel called the Thipurai Beach Hotel Annex it was very reasonably priced per night. The hotel is situated in a small soi (street) close to the beach area and just off the main road. The reception staff, his name is Thu (pronounced Doo) was very friendly and welcoming and spoke reasonably good English and catered to our needs upon arrival. The price per night for the room was 800 Baht (around $32 AUD) in the low season and 1000 Baht (around $40 AUD) in the high season.

The room was large, neat, clean and tidy and the bed was comfortable. The room has TV, aircon, a balcony, wardrobe, swimming pool but there are no tea/coffee making facilities. If you are hungry, then there are a number of restaurants and bars within eye sight of the hotel or a very short 1 minute walk. There is also a family minimart located on the main road as you enter the small street for those late night munchies or alcohol if you need it.

The beach is also a very short walk from the hotel (about 2 minutes Max) from the hotel annex. Our room was the only one on the ground floor and there was a slight sewage smell that became prominent when you turned on the aircon. There really is nothing you can do about it as the access point is right outside the room on the balcony.

For breakfast, you can try the many local restaurants in the area, or just go down to the main hotel which is about a 30 second walk and will cost you 200 Baht (around $8 AUD) per person. Although breakfast is from 6am to 10 am, the menu is limited and just barely warm at the best of times. The hotel annex is recommended if you are using the rooms just to get sleep. There is no lift in the hotel annex section.

Located in a small Soi (street). The reception staff were very friendly and the rooms were neat, clean and tidy. Very quiet and relaxing. Breakfast available from 6am to 10am, but is limited in menu and only just warm. Some rooms have a view but over the rooftops. Very short tuk tuk or taxi ride to the marketsOverall good value for money

Unfortunately the Thipurai hotel is getting "old"! I've been coming here multiple times over the past 5 years but it lost its charms. It desperately needs some TLC! Towels are frayed, mould is apparent all over the bathroom all over it just isn't clean anymore. What tipped the scale when they tried to charge me for a broken water glass that accidentally fell down.
