This was a difficult place to find; located on a small residental back street that is not on the map (the tagged location is actually the local nightmarket). Asking locals "Where is the Bee & B?" inevitably got the response "Which B&B?" - "The B&B" - "Yes, which one?".. argh.. I had a local Thai call to ask where it was, but he could not figure it out. We eventually found it after about an hour of searching.

On arrival we were met by a friendly Thai woman at the desk. Unfortunately it went downhill from there. Our room was a small concrete room with no windows. No balcony either. You don't realise how important windows and fresh air are until they're gone. The room had a toilet a metre or so from the bed - there was a glass partition but it does not reach the floor or ceiling so all noises and smells escape in to the bedroom. The owner calls this "romantic", but I can assure you there is nothing romantic about sitting on a bed while your partner is on the toilet a metre away. (If you check the photos on here, you will see a photo of our room where the toilet seat is visible at the bottom right of the photo next to the bed)

No fresh air and a toilet in the room is not good. To make it worse, the bed sheets were stained and the bathroom was grubby (to preempt the joker who replied to a previous review - this was not the "staff bathroom" - haha very funny NOT - this was the bathroom in our room, the one that was a metre away from our bed).

The next morning, we were looking forward to the "amazing hearty" breakfast that we had read about. Unfortunately, we were to be disappointed. The breakfast was exactly the same as served elsewhere in Thailand - coffee, toast, hotdog, egg. There was nothing special about it at all.

In three months of travelling Thailand, our experience here was the worst. This place portrays itself as a boutique experience with price to match, but it isn't, and it just comes across as dishonest or "incredibly optimistic" marketing. For example, the discreet garden jacuzzi - there is no garden, the jacuzzi at the entrance to the building right next to the dining tables and to the manager's computer desk - not discreet or romantic. The one good point I will say about the manager is that she let us leave immediately and we didn't have to pay for any extra days that we had booked.

Room Tip: Do NOT stay in the rooms without windows

We're sorry you were so disappointed in your stay with us, as we work hard to make sure every guest has a great experience. Nevertheless, I still feel compelled to discuss each of your points of dissatisfaction.

You seem to be upset that the toilet is behind a glass wall that is in the room. First of all, we have a curtain that can make the area private, although many of our guests do not like to use it anyway. Also, we clearly show the setup in all photos of our rooms, as we are proud of the design and most of our guests love it. So, we are obviously not trying to hide it.

Regarding the fact that you found the toilet area "grimy," we rarely get a complaint about that, as the many reviews here can attest to, though it is possible someone who does not appreciate the "outdoor feeling" design of the toilet area would not appreciate it. Further, we recently made a few design changes to the room, one of them being to cement the rocks in place around the bricks, which allows for much more efficient cleaning. If I'm not mistaken, you stayed with us before that change was made.

As for breakfast, you are correct that you should not have been served that particular meal. The meal normally served on the first night's stay for every guest is a very delicious Egg Benedict. But unfortunately, the lady who normally makes the special breakfasts had a sudden family emergency and was unable to come into work that day. So, we had to make do the best we could on short notice.

We wish you better success next time at finding a guesthouse that meets your standards.

The Bee and B is a lovely homely place which has tried hard to be individual. The rooms are carefully decorated with pebbles and shells in the bathroom etc. The rooms are small but well laid out, although the bathroom is a bit odd as it is completely glass-fronted into the bedroom. I stayed with a friend, not partner, which made showering a little tricky as the shower curtain did not block out the view! The welcome was lovely and there was a free drink every night. The host also organised taxis etc. Overall a great little place to stay.

My Partner and I stayed at The Bee & B in Feb 2014 for two nights and we enjoyed ourselves so much that we had to extend our stay. Our host, Apple was absolutely lovely, she was helpful, friendly and gave us any advice we asked for. We stayed in the Queen Bee room, which was so comfortable. The location is so close to an incredible Muay Thai gym, night markets and the town centre. Thank you for becoming one of our favourite adventures in Thailand. We're absolutely returning and we recommend this Guest House to anyone.

A townhouse-turned-guesthouse, this bed and breakfast felt like we were visiting a friend's beach house. It is situated just south of downtown Hua Hin and is conveniently located right of the main highway and near a small night market.

For $42 a night we enjoyed the "Humble Bee" room, which was small but quiet, with an eclectic river rock bathroom, a rain shower, and a super comfortable full sized bed. The price of one night also included bottled water, beer or soda (one per day per person) and breakfast.

The lady onsite cooked us a delicious and hearty Western breakfast each day. She also provided us with a map of Hua Hin and a list of recommended activities and places to visit during our stay. Thanks for being so helpful!

I liked this guesthouse very much. It is near a night market where food and drink is readily available. Only a short walk to the Main Street and a song taew ride to anywhere in Hua Hin. Good breakfast and vegetarian was no problem.
