We just returned from a dreamy vacation at the beautiful new Rosewood Phuket! It exceeded our expectations in every way and we are experienced travelers with incredibly high expectations! The property is stunning: (grounds, rooms, restaurants, pool, common areas, reception, spa), the food and wine were both delicious, the spa was heavenly (I had a 90 minute massage to die for) and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay incredibly memorable! A deep and sincere thank you to the entire staff for making our stay so extra special with kudos to Andrew: the manager, Sandra: Director of Rooms, Giovanni: F and B Director, Top: F and B Manager, Sora and Jo: F and B Assistant Manager's, Jackie: Sommelier, Head Chef Luca, Chef Montree, Aom: server, Oak: bartender, Ding and Jack: pool attendants, Jen; our butler, Tom: our driver.....and everyone else! We will most definitely be coming back for a future stay soon and highly recommend everyone to experience this unforgettable resort! A sincere and heartfelt thank you again to everyone!

We stayed at Rosewood just after the new year. From the moment we were greeted at the airport by the Rosewood representative until the time we checked out, the service by the Rosewood staff (particularly Alonso, Fang, Milk and Sheni) was world class, warm and welcoming.

The resort is beautifully designed in a manner which is sensitive to the natural environment. Lots of lush greenery to compliment the spectacular view of the ocean. The resort is close enough to the hustle and bustle of Patong Beach (less than 10 minutes by taxi) but located far enough away from the masses.

Our villa was comfortable and well fitted out with modern amenities. The mini bar is well stocked and the bar fridge actually cold, unlike many in other hotel/resort rooms.

Every meal we had at Rosewood (daily breakfast, lunch at The Shack and dinner at Ta Kai) was delicious and freshly prepared. The menu at Ta Kai is well thought out and highlights the local produce and culture.

There are a couple of observations we have (some of which were also mentioned by other reviewers) which we share with other travellers looking to stay at Rosewood:
• although insect spray is provided in the villa, strong tropical insect repellent is a must if you intend to enjoy the outdoors after dark;
• the beautiful outdoor bath tub, although very inviting, is hard to enjoy given the mosquitoes;
• couples should be aware that Rosewood is a family friendly resort. Expect families with children who may from time to time disturb the peaceful environment;
• access to the sauna and steam room are only available when having a treatment at Asaya;
• there are no business centre facilities which is not necessarily a bad thing;
• given the location of Rosewood and proximity to Patong Beach, it would be convenient if the resort had a regular shuttle service to and from Patong Beach but it does not. Taxis are cheap and are easily enough to call from the hotel. However, a return trip is not as easy to arrange in peak times or when visiting other areas of the island as many taxi drivers are unfamiliar with the resort (this will surely improve over time).

On a final note, the beautiful roses, strawberries and champagne which were arranged in our villa to help celebrate our wedding anniversary was a nice personal touch and so much appreciated.

Overall, the attention to detail and service by the Rosewood team created an enjoyable and memorable experience.

We enjoyed a fantastic 9 night stay In Rosewood over Christmas and New Year 2017.
The staff throughout the hotel are exceptional and delivered a level of quality that belies the fact that the hotel has only very recently opened.
Dining was amazing - standouts for us were Ka Thai and Red Sauce Italian restaurant for a high quality but super relaxed dining experience.
Lots of different pool & beachfront areas to relax in and enjoy own quiet space if required; same applies to the restaurants.
Gym is a bit on the small side but there is plenty of space for it to expand in the future.
Overall we had a great stay.

Overall our 6 night stay at rosewood was amazing. For a new hotel you’d expect some hiccups, we didn’t see any. We had one major gripe which I’ll get into below

Property: A+. It bids itself as green and sustainable. It’s beautifully designed, and welcoming. Our room was gorgeous, and comfortable, with a large private plunge pool. Although the outdoor tub was pretty it wasn’t all that functional. The pools are gorgeous and comfortable. Plenty of wellness and water activities to do if that’s your thing.

Staff: A+. Thailand’s hospitality is second too none. The people here love tourism, and they will always go above and beyond to make sure your stay in Thailand is exceptional. The rosewood staff was no different. The pool and wellness/fitness/activity staff was among the best I’ve experienced.

Wellness: A+. Wellness is important to us. The fitness center is very well equipped for a hotel. The complimentary classes are taught by very knowledgeable instructors (try yoga, TABATA, and Muay Thai). The water sports staff is very good.

Spa: A-. It’s a good spa, they have the right idea. We went through a couple treatments and they were always running late getting us to the treatment room. The waiting area is very nice, but each time there were a disturbance - the property in general needs better control guest that are disturbing others (more on that).

Food: A. Breakfast was very good, mostly western foods. Lunch was good,
Lots of light options by the pool. Dinner was also very good. We had been traveling through Thailand for 2 weeks so a change from thai food was nice. The Italian restaurant has a lot of option, including good pizza. The “Shack” which is seafood was my favorite non-Thai option. Ta Khai, the flagship restaurant was our favorite restaurant meal we had in all of Thailand. Even if you don’t stay at rosewood I would highly recommend a visit.

THE ISSUE: There were 2 large families (about 8 to 10 guest per family) at the resort when we were there and the children were loud, obnoxious, and unruly during the day at the pool and in the restaurants at night - it was impossible to find any peace from it. I am guest that is okay with children being children, and there were plenty of other family and children that were having fun without disturbing other guest. These two groups were constantly out of control - splashing, screaming, and playing tag and games throughout the restaraunts and common areas. Management should have identified the problem and resolved it without other guest complaining (even after a light complaint it continued). It was clear they were being disruptive to guest as everyone was moving to get away from them but could never find refuge. This was the only disappoint at the rosewood. Management should be able to better balance the need to accommodate children with respect for all guest.

BOTTOM LINE:

I’d recommend this property. I can’t say enough about how amazing the staff was, and how gorgeous the property is. As time goes on it will mature and fix the tiny problems it has. It is a great alternative to Amanpuri which requires a 10 night minimum during December and January (staying 10 nights in Phuket isn’t feasible nor would I recommend).

I had a chance to have dinner at their Thai Restaurant. First we had some drinks at the bar near the swimming pool first.
The first step, we walked into the hotel, it's a big wow! It's absolutely fantastic with all the design and decoration. It's nothing we have seen before.

I had sangria at the bar, the price is not high compare to the level and luxury hotels!
The quality is great! The bartender knew what he was doing and well entertained the guests. Very impressive. I was stunned by the design of the hotel really.
My friend had a beer margarita if im not wrong. It's perfect! So refreshing.
The price is not so high at all.
There was a DJ playing some chilling music which made the bar more lively.
You can see the ocean from the pool area.

Then we had Thai food set dinner, the food was so tasty and authentic! High quality of food. The restaurant is very pretty, comfortable and very relaxing!
You can see the sea there as well.
Again, everything was so lively and beautiful place on the island!
The service is excellent! The staffs are very well trained and very outstanding!
Next time, we have to try their Italian restaurant!
We had the best night!
