Finally Hop Inn opened up in Rayong. Quite long awaited. And as standard goes, same consistent quality throughout all branches, so if you stayed in one, you can be pretty sure the rest are identical. No frills room, one comfortable bed, long table for sprawling out your notebook and work, the compact toilet, no breakfast provided, no pool, no gym and free coffee at the lobby. What’s really great about this budget hotel in Rayong is the extreme close proximity to the night market. Plenty of food 1 minutes’ walk away. Shall be my choice whenever I be in the province on business. Suits the budget holidaymakers as well looking for just a place to spend the night.

My kids love Hop Inn because they all look the same, so they feel familiar. They're all on the very basic side, but quite modern and clean. In a place like Rayong there would be other inexpensive hotel options (in the range of 600 baht per night, but booking sites discount even that) but Hop Inns are cost-effective for covering the basics. There is a coffee machine that provides free coffee in the morning (and cocoa; that works for my kids), and a microwave, and they sell some snacks and CP frozen foods, and that's about it. The rooms have a refrigerator, free wifi, and nice, functional bathrooms. It's not a great option if you wanted to spend a lot of time in the hotel, and really for a beach outing theme you could be closer to the beach, but it works for us.
