Stayed here back in August and horribly regret it. We were warned by multiple friends/family members of the terrible experiences they’ve had staying at this place and we did not listen bc it’s not easy to find a hotel with docking space available last minute. We will never ever return here. Multiple instances happen during our stay that still cannot shake so i’m here to tell you and warn you all.
- Our first interaction was at check in. We had booked two rooms but were only able to receive one key bc not all 5 ppl were here yet, even tho the 3 that arrived first were party members of the different rooms.
- Next, we were harshly ordered to move our car because its wheel was touching the white parking stripe and apparently that “scares people”. Yes, not over, but touching.
-The room was falling apart and extremely outdated. The curtains were broken and all off of the track (I fixed them). The baseboards were quite literally rotting and falling off of the wall.
-Next at checkout the female owner told us “follow me girls I have to show you something”. We were then led to the downstairs room beneath our 2nd level room. The owner pointed to the ceiling where there was a dark brown wet/moldy spot. The owner then said to us “so what’d you girls do in your room last night. Did you spill soda, or flood your bathroom?” She not only spoke to us in an unbelievably condescending manner, but she also blamed us for an obvious ongoing pluming issue. We did not spill anything or flood anything. We simply used the shower and toilet as nor al during our 2 night stay. We were barely in our rooms, just to sleep and get ready. The hotel and rooms look to have not been updated since it was built in 1989. Everything is extremely outdated and rundown. The carpet was moist when we walked in and we had assumed it was because of the humidity and the ac having been off, now it’s obvious that this could’ve also been related to the plumbing issue. I can only help but think they knew of this issue and placed us in that room on purpose in hopes of placing blame on 3 young girls. It seemed almost strategic. This women, and her husband along with her are the worst type of owners you will ever come across.
Want to be treated as a professional with courtesy? Forget about it at Otter Creek! The treatment of customers is so bizarre that words here simply cannot fully describe the horrific negative effect.
I travel for work and have stayed at hundreds of hotels across America and have spent an abundance of nights in a year away from home. That’s a lot of hotels, a lot of managers and a lot of good and bad issues.
Coast to Coast across America - This place and the mangers rank dead last. Dead last.
People & Vacationers - I warn you - Stay away from Otter Creek.
