Awful experience from the very start! Staff were very rude at reception. I arrived with my family after a 14 hour journey at 6:30pm Turkish time. It was nearly dinner time at the hotel. We were told that myself and my father had to wear long trousers to dinner. We did not have these as we were not made aware of this in the travel agents brochure. The staff replied that we would "either have to go out immediately and buy some" or me and my family would have to eat in the "Elite Bistro restaurant instead of the main one for the next 2 weeks". After inquiring it became knowledge that this Bistro restaurant they were referring to was simply a sandwich bar. I thought this was absolutely disgusting that after paying so much money to a so-called 5 star hotel to be told to live off sandwiches for the next 14 days.

The staff at reception and even the hotel management were not concerned about our well-being and having just completed a 14 hour journey. They were more concerned with sticking to their rules rather than trying to make our stay as comfortable as possible. This caused us stress and sadness and thus left us no choice but to move to another hotel. The way we were spoken to was totally unacceptable.

On top of this, our rooms were completely open-plan. i was staying with my sister in this type of room and was obviously totally inappropriate. After addressing this later on that evening we were simply told "that all rooms are like this and there is nothing they can do for us". Once again they were extremely rude about it and very blunt towards how they were addressing us. Clearly this hotel is more suitable for couples and not families. THOMAS COOK did not mention anything about the dress-code or the room layout in their brochure, which is why it came as such a surprise. However, regardless of this, the hotel did not care about making us happy or even feeling welcome in anyway.

The main restaurant for dinner was of a sub-standard quality. There was literally no choice at all. I was not only stressed and unhappy, but also starving! This is NOT a 5 star hotel more like a 3 star hotel. My family and I have been to numerous hotels in Turkey over the years including Barut Lara, Sussessi and Cornelia Diamond and there is no comparison!

Finally, after all of this stress in the first 3 hours of arriving, we were eventually moved by Thomas Cook on the third day of our stay, only to be charged by the hotel a further £720 as a no-show fee. This was completely unacceptable as we had already paid Thomas Cook to stay at this hotel. I feel that they charged us this simply out of spite. I have never in my entire life stayed at such an accommodation that has such low-regard for their customers and customer service was non-existent. I would STRONGLY ADVISE NOT TO STAY AT THIS HOTEL unless you want to become stressed, ill and lose weight!

DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL NOT a 5 star more like 3 star. Rude staff at reception. Arrived at hotel 6.30pm was told men had to wear long trousers for dinner, when we said we did not have any long trousers we were told to go out and buy some or we would not be able to have dinner. I have been to many 5 star hotels in Turkey and have never experienced such rudeness. This hotel is only suitable for couples and not brother sister sharing a room as it is only open plan. There is no atmosphere in hotel. BE AWARE. We moved from this hotel and were charged by the hotel £720.00 for no show fee. This was a nightmare holiday. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL>

Dear Hamide K,

we were very sad to read your review.
Our hotel concept includes that all our male guests have to wear long trousers for dinner, in the main restaurant and also in the a la carte restaurant. You can read that on our website, moreover your agency gave you this information. That is why this rule should not have been a surprise for you. If you don't have long trousers with you, you are always able to have dinner in our Elite Bistro.
Our hotel was opened in 2012 and the architecture meets the highest European standards. Lots of new hotels have open bathrooms. You can see pictures of all our room types on our website and moreover on the website of Thomas Cook UK. So also the open bathroom should not have been a surprise for you.
Of course we need to accept that you didn't like our hotel and you didn't want to stay here. But because all the points you complained about are part of our hotel concept and you could have known all these things before making the reservation, we needed to take the no show fee from you.
All hotels will take a fee if you don't stay for the whole time you made the reservation for. Because there is no fault from ourside, we also need to take this fee from you. We kindly ask for your understanding, because we blocked two rooms for you, for your whole reservationtime.

We are very sad that you didn't like our hotel. But as we explained above, the issues you complained about are part of the hotel concept and so you could have known all these before.

The Commodore Elite is definitely a four and a half out of five hotel. I had to round up to five as its better than a four. The premises had everything you would need. Food was good, the bars good, the cafe good and the massage and hairdressers were (you guessed it) good. Side was beautiful BUT we didn't see much of it so I recommend you do a boat trip as the ruins and town were underwhelming. The hotel's location was also drab BUT once inside you basically forget about that. The beach was beautiful and you wanted for nothing.

The cocktails were amazing considering they were local and the Ice Cream coffee was to die for.

The staff were generally very good BUT there was once or twice we were ignored by a certain waiter when we had the audacity to speak English but once my Polish girlfriend started speaking in German, this waiter became the friendliest ever. No I am not a little Englander but it happened so I am telling you.

English are in the minority however everyone mixed by the bar when the alcohol loosened tongues.

The room was amazing but the one gripe... the toilet wasn't soundproof and you could see inside. If your idea of fun is watching or hearing your partner do a number 2 then you will be in heaven. Otherwise go for deluxe suite or send your partner outside onto the balcony.

To be fair the Commodore upgraded us to a better room for which we were thankful. Adults only meant no screaming kids (aww bless them) and its the only hotel in Turkey that I'd bring the mother in law back to.

Special mention to Okan who was the best waiter we ever had in Turkey.

Hotel was great from check in to room to food to pool's, it is a quite hotel but that's what we like, very relaxing, really enjoyed being there for our 2 weeks holiday. Our only criticism is when asking for a late checkout we just abruptly got told no with no discussion or even trying to help us get another room, the hotel was not full, would of been a nice last day but instead we had to hang about all day waiting for the bus to pick us up at 6pm instead of lying by the pool relaxing, although you can have a shower in the spa but felt too much hassle, but on the whole we had a very relaxing holiday. The girls in the piano bar were very attentive and fun, Ugur (not sure how to spell his name) was very nice and attentive at breakfast and lunch giving us our champagne most afternoons, very nice guy, great hotel

This was our second visit to this hotel - it was brilliant first time and even better second time round. What makes this hotel excellent are the staff - everyone of them are friendly, attentive and helpful. Rooms are modern, immaculate with walk in shower etc. There are tea and coffee making facilities, a free safe and a fridge which is stocked every day with lager, coke, lemonade etc.
Food is fantastic, so much choice with two al a cartes which are free - you just have to book in Reception. The staff in the restaurants are great - I find if you tip you are guaranteed to be looked after. After saying that, guests who didn't tip still had great service but I think it is good to reward great service. Special mention to our favourite waiter Emrullah who couldn't do enough for us.
There is a large pool with bar service but as it was so hot (34 degrees)we went on the beach every day which had loads of sunbeds and brollies so no need to be up early. There is also a beach bar which serves lunch and drinks. This is the only hotel I know where staff come round with iced flannels, melon and drinks to your sunbed - sheer luxury.
Forgot to mention, complimentary slippers are provided plus dressing gowns to use. Also a beach bag is provided and because it was our second visit we were given warm scarves to take home. Beach towels are provided and you can change them at the Spa. There are shops in the hotel including a market selling everything including newspapers at a reasonable price. Also a hairdressers which charged 12 euros for a wash and blow dry which was excellent. We will definately be returning to the Commodore Hotel.
