Fast, efficient, and friendly check in. No wrist bands (key card needed to show security). Free WiFi.
We stayed in a ‘1 bedroom residence’, which had been recently refurbished to a very high standard (see pics on website). The bedroom had a double and single bed with 2 single sofa beds in the lounge area. Very spacious with a dining table too. Double balcony. Tea, coffee and fridge re stocked daily. Various toiletries including loofahs. Useful Barut beach bag provided.
We moved to a swim up room on the final day to enable late check out - the decor was basic but the private pool shared between a few rooms was lovely.
Restaurant provided lots of choice and themed evenings. We required vegetarian and gluten free meals and always found good food. The patisserie provided cakes and ice cream too. We only used one a la carte restaurant- Olive Italian. Very impressed by food and service. They even made GF pizza and pasta for us!
There was a choice of indoor/outdoor bar areas - with varied seating and tasteful decor and lighting. Good standard of drinks with good service. Fridges were stocked with bottled water for self service.
Pleasant grounds with many varied trees, which provided good shade too. A choice of areas to sit with many sun beds and parasols - beach, grass, pools.
Daily entertainment provided - darts, aqua fit, rifle, pool games. A weekly pool party and a weekly inflatable event also provided. Live music at pool bar some evenings. Main evening show at 9:30 was different for our 14 nights - dance shows, acrobats, Mr & Mrs Hotel, magician, singer. Free popcorn too!
Shops available at hotel but lots available on main road outside hotel and also some along promenade. Lots of tourist gifts, ‘genuine fakes’, and pharmacies.
Friendly and helpful staff. (Mehmet, Halil, Ummie, Mustafa, Ceylan, Ramazan, Sedef)
Many people seem to return to this hotel and we would happily stay here again.

We've just returned from a fortnights family holiday to Barut Hemera.
The hotel itself is very clean and I would recommend it for anyone wanting to stay somewhere All Inclusive that has pools and access to a nice beach.
The rooms are pretty basic but if you're anything like us, it's simply somewhere to sleep so we didn't spend too much time there. The maid cleaned the rooms very well on a daily basis and even made some nice touches with arranging the towels with flowers etc.
The 4 A La Carte restaurants that are available were on the whole pretty good - you have to book them early as they get full very quickly. There's is only one sitting per evening for each restaurant though so maybe the hotel could consider running two sittings to enable more people to go, especially because if you're only there a week, there's little to no chance you'll get in any of them. Our most favourite was the Olive Italian restaurant. Food was delicious, service was spot on and it was my daughter's 16th birthday and they brought a cake out for her while everyone sang happy birthday. The International restaurant was mostly French food and was also very good, as was the Seafood restaurant. The only one which didn't really do it for us was the Turkish restaurant. Service was slow and there was quite an abrupt waiter who came across as rude (however in hindsight I think this may just be his manner and he's not intentionally rude). The food also wasn't really to our taste either but there was a good number of choices available.
The all inclusive buffet for breakfast and evening meal was ok but I have to say that it wasn't the best choice of food we've ever had and the quality wasn't always brilliant. This is why my review is only 4 stars. The waiter Mehmet we had in the evenings though was brilliant.
Although the buffet restaurant is also available for lunch, I would recommend going to the Olive restaurant or the beach snack restaurant for lunch as the food there was much nicer. The waiters Seyfullah and Recep at the Olive restaurant were particularly good and really go above and beyond to make you feel welcome.
There are cats practically everywhere. This is a bonus for us as we love cats and they all seemed very friendly and happy to accept titbits given to them at the restaurants by holiday makers. If you don't like cats though I can see that this would be a turn off.
We mostly stayed by the 'quiet' pool. The quiet pool isn't quiet and is mostly occupied by British families with lots of children on inflatables and playing with balls. This was good for us but I did meet couples who were disappointed that it wasn't quieter.
The beach area is nice but a whole lot hotter than the hotel. The hotel pedalo was broken for some of our stay but I reported it to reception who say they'd get it fixed which they did. It was great fun but don't expect any health and safety advice from the water sports centre where you collect it from. We were just pointed towards the life jackets and told to get on with it - there was no control over how long we could be out for or a log of how many of us there were. I didn't feel particularly assured should anything have happened to us out at sea as no-one knew where/who we are!
I can't really comment on the daily evening entertainment as we only watched the magic show but that was very good. The live singing at the pool bar was not too bad but don't expect anything spectacular.
On the whole it's a good hotel where we had a nice holiday. We probably wouldn't return though simply because it wasn't the best place we've stayed.

What a lovely hotel and resort we were really sad to leave..
*Staff were really friendly although the bar staff in the pool could come across a little bit grumpy at times but we put that down to it being busy at times.
*The hotel was really clean although in certain areas around the pool there was a smell of stagnant water or a drainage smell at certain times of the day which made us avoid that area of the pool.
*The food was really nice and plenty to choose from, there was various selection of cakes and ice creams flavours available from 12-6 in the patisserie and the restaurant had theme nights which made the selection even better throughout our stay. There was also selection of a la carte restaurants to choose from.
*The room was smaller than we had hoped but considering the amount of time we spend in there it didn't affect us at all, the bed is the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in and the air con was always working. I would recommend using the "Do not disturb" sign when you go to bed as one of the housekeeping wanted to gain access at 830am a bit to keen for our liking, unfortunately the mini bar fridge didn't work and we asked reception for it to be fixed but it was never was.
*The whole resort is full of Greenery and various fruit trees and all signed well for your information.
*Good range of drinks available including a extensive cocktail menu, you can even have important spirits like smirnoff and absolute but you need to be specific when wanting these as the bar staff will gravitate towards the local brands if not requested.
*The WiFi had a good range but was a bit patchy near the beach bar but that's understandble given the size of the resort
*There was plenty of activitys to do at the hotel with the entertainment (Animation) team and the theater shows in the evening are off good quality and definitely worth a watch.
*The little shop situated at the hotel is expensive compared to the shops opposite the hotel in the street, I would suggest walking across the road and pay far less if you wanted to buy inflatables for the pool or cigarettes.
*The swimming pool toilets near the water slide zone could do with attention as they wasn't very clean and smelled a bit but all other toilets within the hotel were of high quality.
*My biggest gripe was people getting up at 5.30am if not earlier to get a sunbed near the pool which meant if you went down to the pool at 9-930am chances of getting a sunbed next to the pool was slim to none.

Overall we had a amazing holiday and will return next year..

I had high hopes for this very looked forward to holiday and researched it so well thinking I was on to a winner - it wasn't cheap so I thought we'd be OK. On arrival I thought it was all OK it was very late due to flight delays and the reception was quick to show us to our room. The room was standard not 5 star at all and the balcony view was blocked by banana trees - room 4030. I was travelling with my two daughters aged 15 and 13 and one of them had to sleep on the single very hard sofa bed. She's 5ft 8 so this was a problem. The following day I asked for my room to be changed and was told to come back the next morning so again my daughter slept on the hard sofa falling out. We were going to move the following morning until my eldest was struck down with food poisoning. No move for us as my daughter was sick for 24 hours and then the other end. None of us had the energy to move now so we requested an extra bed but we were delivered another hard extension to add to the single sofa. The holiday continues .... "Quiet pool" were you have to be up at the crack of dawn to get a bed is not the quiet pool and is in fact the inflatable ball game pool with loud small children. Day 5 and I now have food poisoning (Sofra restaurant) violently sick for 24 hours and again the other end which still continues 5 days post holiday. Day 8 and my youngest gets it (Sandals restaurant) exactly the same as myself and my other daughter but not so bad on the stomach upset. The holiday is now completely ruined as you can imagine. We all take a trip to the doctors and the hospital, blood tests, stool tests, dehydrated and bacteria in our blood. Diagnosis acute gasteroenturitis caused by bacteria from food or pool. £846 later and I really just wanted to go home. We still had another 5 days left. We wasn't the only ones to get sick. A few families in our first week had too. The ambulance taxi was seen most days either leaving or bringing someone back.
So to summarise - staff are actually really lovely. Everywhere looks really clean. Rooms are small and not 5 star. Grounds are 5 star. Entertainment could be better. Quiet pool should be just that. Entertainment staff should make more effort to include everyone. Beds should be strictly not reserved as people don't turn up til gone 11 if not later. Beach is lovely but be prepared to share it as its not completely private once you leave the bedded area. And be careful what you eat. Make sure its very hot, completely cooked, and hasn't sat there for a while (all starters in all al a carte restaurants even open restaurants are sat waiting for you to arrive from 6:50pm so if you arrive at 8 its been out a while). Thank you Burak for looking after us as much as you possibly could and thank you to your guest relations team for being so kind and caring.

Room Tip: Rooms near the quiet pool have better air con

Dear Jane R,

It is so sad to hear your experiences are not met what you expected before arrived to Hemera. It is also so sad you all three had sick.We want you to know that as you wrote food poisoning serious and must be epidemic; while you were at hotel no food poisoning epidemicly informed us thorugh the hospital. We have daily list and as you mentioned to ambulance taxi does not only bring food poisoning guests also those who ear pain or some medical difficulties as well.

We as hotel management do not accept your claiments as food poisoning.Accordingly regulations our kitchen team take daily sample for testing and we want you to know we keep all food as must be stored accordingly instructions. We deeply sorry for you and your daughters sickness.

We had 7 nights here, what a lovely place to stay. The rooms were good size and clean, mini bar all free on All inclusive, tv with a couple of English channels. Restaurant has a vast choice of food themed nights, the day time snacks are better than any we’ve had before. Hotel is on beach with plenty of beds, security on the gate. There are plenty of sun beds but if you want the prime spots get up at 5 otherwise you get what’s left.. Entertainment on to get you involved, night entertainment good, although they are multilingual so everything’s explained in 5 languages. Towels supplied for sun beds also a plastic beach bag to carry them in.
Robes and slippers also supplied along with some toiletries. The pool party on a Wednesday is great. The bar was great no two drink rule and all brands of spirits are included along with cocktails.
A very relaxing and enjoyable holiday..
