FOOD

Set meal times only and no snacks available. On previous all-inclusive holidays food is available around the clock. I appreciate that this time of year may warrant less coverage however on arrival we were given a timetable which stated that food was pretty much always available (a photograph of this can be provided as evidence on request). The times stated were different to the times

that food was served so when we were under the impression that dinner service would commence at 7:00pm and arrived at that time to find most of the food gone and not replenished, cold, unappealing and everywhere just filthy it did little for our appetite and we pretty much spent the week surviving on bread. The cleanliness of food areas including dining areas was appalling there was even bird droppings on the windows and walls INSIDE the dining area (photo evidence). My husband is an ex-military chef and we now have a family café and I would never dream of letting the standards slip so low that it would resemble anything like that hotel. Again, I appreciate that over the season certain fixtures are damaged etc but general cleanliness in what is calling itself a 5* hotel? Come on! The only place you can get hot food is the outside BBQ cooking area which is fine (although dirty) but I never once witnessed any food temperatures being taken to ensure that meat, in particular chicken, was thoroughly cooked. The BBQ area also had mixed cooked and raw chicken on and sadly I don’t mean that one half was used for raw and the other for partially cooked, it was a case of if they see a gap between cooked chicken they will put raw there without a second thought and then proceed to use the very same tongs to put cooked chicken on your plate that he had just used to put raw chicken on the BBQ with. This place is asking to make someone seriously ill. Lastly on the food issue there were many stray animals around (it’s clearly a problem in Turkey which is not my concern) but they are not stopped or moved on when they enter the building and lurk around food and in the dining areas. My husband has a severe allergy to cats, so this was a huge problem for us but trying to explain to the staff they just laughed it off and went on their merry way. Ice cream was not available at all. There is a Panoramic rooftop restaurant, plus an additional 3 or 4 others that were all closed and not available (yet our paperwork on check in states they were all available).

DRINKS

Both soft drinks and alcoholic drinks ran out consistently throughout the entire week, sometimes very early on in the day and little seemed to be done in attempt to combat this. If they had run out of vodka it was simply “no vodka” there was no offer of their imported list, just that we couldn’t have it. My preferred drink was gin and tonic. I had tonic the first day we arrived, and it was never available again. Bar areas never seemed to be cleaned with the exception of the indoor bar in the lobby which was cleaned repeatedly throughout the evenings but not during the day. The outdoor pool bar was by

far the worst area with sticky floors and so many wasps that you would think there was a hive there. I appreciate this is going to be a small problem in warmer climates, but a little cleaning would minimise this and reduce the amount of wasps considerably. Fresh fruit smoothie bar – fabulous idea, but at 5-10euro for the privilege on an all-inclusive holiday? No thanks! I’m guessing other guests had the same opinion as I never once saw them sell one and the fruit had certainly seen better days, which is ludicrous since we went to quite possibly the best fresh fruit and veg market I’ve ever seen in my life in the centre of Manavgat which was fantastic quality and very cheap. Self service coffee machine in pool bar area I don’t think was ever cleaned since they purchased it! There were layers of filth and we refused to use it. The one in the dining area was a little cleaner but white coffee came out black so was useless to us – staff laughed it off (again). In the last 2 days, still bottled water had completely run out.

ROOMS

Firstly, we paid for a room with 2 bedrooms for our own convenience and comfort. On arrival we were given our room which was only a 1 bedroom room with pull out chairs in the lounge area. When we questioned this, we were told they do not have rooms with 2 separate bedrooms in. Either that was a lie or there are clearly some communication issues with what they can offer. The rooms themselves were not thoroughly cleaned, dusty ledges, dirty glass on doors and the balcony was a disgrace, mould in the bathroom and the bedroom by the air conditioning unit and even blood on the top corner of the door! Lots of damage, walls missing chunks and in need of a full paint (not just painting in patches as had been done) plug sockets hanging off the walls, lock on the balcony door didn’t work, no extraction fan in bathroom (hence the mould) and our room was never hoovered throughout our entire stay. The cleaning staff removed some sheets for the pull out beds twice during our stay without replacing them for no reason leaving us having to attempt to communicate with reception staff at night to get replacements (all unnecessary).

POOLS

All pools absolutely filthy, there was rubbish that had been there so long it had sunk to the bottom, green algae in the bottom of the toddlers pools with ducks paddling in and other animals allowed to roam free, grates that were supposed to be covering drainage around the poolside many were broken or missing all

over the area (some were even covered over with what looked like aerobics steps to mask the fact they were missing or cable tied together in an attempt at a quick fix), no lifeguards present which was particularly disturbing at the water slides (then again you had to repeatedly beg the staff, reception, bar and animation team to have them put on and they would do it if they could be bothered), the floors were not cleaned at poolside (or anywhere), parasols were mouldy, tables never cleaned, no bins provided to clear up after ourselves.

COMMUNAL AREAS

All in desperate need of being updated, very little lighting in the corridors making it quite difficult to see (are they hiding something?!), lifts often not in use and very dirty when they were, plus one in particular was really quite dangerous with the flooring loose (a trip hazard), we never saw anyone hoovering or dusting communal areas during our stay which is evident when looking around a little more closely, areas of the roof were leaking in the rain leaving buckets out catching the rain water, salt protruding from the spa area through the walls into the corridor, the refuse area was just a shambles, not even organised to be a little tidy – it was already “at the dump”, electricity was quite obviously an issue as it was tripping an awful lot day and night.

SPA

The word spa should not be used to describe this area in any way shape or form. Firstly, it appears to have been abandoned by any staff other than 1 person who lounges in its empty reception area on his phone all day (according to management at the hotel they were all fired the previous week). The steam room wasn’t even switched on, Turkish Bath area dirty, plunge pool dirty, swimming pool dirty, jacuzzi off and dirty with a layer of scum on the top, all floors dirty “relaxation area” dirty – everything in there, DIRTY.

SHOP

Their pathetic shop was never replenished, nor did it show any pricing for anything, yet the staff could hardly speak any English so buying anything was basically hand over your money and hope for change ad that we weren’t going to be ripped off.

STAFF/MANAGEMENT

Mostly rude, hardly anyone spoke a great deal of English, the only thing they did know how to say was “come back later” or “come back tomorrow” to get rid of people complaining. For a random place this would be acceptable since we were in another country, but to be at a hotel that claims hospitability to English tourists there is nothing about it that is acceptable. Management were even more rude than the staff, many claiming not to even be managers when they sensed someone has a complaint. After complaining about anything we were made to feel incredibly uncomfortable and it was clear that they had no intentions in attempting to resolve any of our issues.

This is part of my official complaint - to which they have had the audacity to deny all know;edge of most things brought to their attention. It seems they don't wish to rectify issues even now!

I HAVE NEVER GIVEN A HOTEL A BAD REVIEW BUT NONE OF THEM HAVE BEEN AS BAD AS THIS HOTEL. We arrived at this so called 5* hotel on 3rd November for 7 days. I know that it was approaching the end of the season but we still paid and expected a reasonable standard. There were VERY few good things about our stay. ALL of the A La Carte Restaurants were closed during our stay. The Roof Panorama Restaurant was also closed. The Beach Bar (for beef burger / chips etc.) was closed. The Beach Bar for drinks closed down after 4 days. The staff member (male) who worked at the Beach Bar was bone idol and unhelpful. The main bar (Lobby Bar) in the hotel continually ran out of all the local drinks - Coke, Sprite, Vodka, Gin, tonic on a daily basis. On a few occassions they also ran out of beer. More often than not when they had beer it was definately cloudy and tasted awful. The staff in the Lobby Bar and the Pool Bar (which also closed down during our stay) tried their hardest to do a difficult job (not having alcohol or soft drinks to serve) The worst thing about our stay was the food which I can only describe as "Slop". Every day the slop was exactly the same at EVERY meal. If you were lucky you could get fried eggs and bread for breakfast (as well as all the slop). There was no meat at lunchtime - soup andbread or a salad sandwich was the best on offer (slop was also on the menu). The evening meal consisted of grilled chicken or turkey and slop. None of the"help yourself" soft drink machines were working. Even the Russians said that the food was rubbish. All of the swimming pools were filthy. They all had algi in and leaves in the bottom, they obviously hadn't been cleaned for months. I always look at the reviews but sometimes I think that some people just complain for the sake of it. I have NEVER put a bad review on Trip Advisor before. There was NO evening entertainment. Avoid this hotel at all cost - the food is rubbish (slop), they continually run out of drinks, the pools are filthy and some of the staff are rude. When someone complained to the duty mananager, he was told "If you don't like it, go somewhere else" - that's the comments from a senior member of staff !!!

Room Tip: The hotel is dated and could do with having money spent on it to clean it up.

First of all, if you value your health then stay well away from this hotel.
We've holidayed in 11 [eleven] 5* properties all over Turkey and this hotel is no where near, if I was being generous 3* at best.
The rooms are a health hazard, the restaurant is like a 2* cafe but the whole complex is absolutely filthy from the net covered light shades and ceiling in reception to the build up of bacteria across the floor of the swimming pool.
The bread was fresh every day, the rest forget it. The displayed rarely changed [or at least to us it was the same mush] there were descent barbecues just outside the 'cafe' if you are prepared to queue and I mean queue for a long time, but add something your chicken or fish then find a clean table and your food was always cold.
The staff speak little English but you can always get around that and they were very helpful, especially around the pool bar.

We sent a memory stick [through our agent] of the disgusting stains in the bathroom.
The hotel then came back to say we were offered another room but were still unhappy......we were never offered another room, because we never requested one. Other English speaking guests informed us, in conversation that there rooms were as bad, so there seemed little benefit on moving. We just had to suck it up, fortunately we were only there a week.

Room Tip: Pick another hotel, the filth in this hotel hasn't just happened, it's a result of months if not years of neglect.

This hotel is awful, don't even consider going, first impression was not bad.... But it was the middle of the night. We were woken very early by the resident cockerel (there was an enclosure housing chickens, peacocks, ducks, and the very noisy cockerel... This was in front of the guest rooms) Off we went for breakfast, oh my it was awful, the dining area was dirty, chipped plates and cups, only one coffee machine was working and the food was very unappetising, I had bread and jam. So off we went to explore, the bottom swimming pool had a family of ducks??? swimming in it and was filthy, the edge of the pool being covered in duck poo, OK so there's another pool, so we spent the day there.... Made another trip for lunch, worse than breakfast, I had a bowl of soup, it was cold, no butter for the bread and the rest of the food was cold, grey and looked like it had been there for days. We decided to try dinner, ended up going to the shop for crisps. Had a couple of drinks in the bar, there were children chasing round and a very drunken man who caused a fight... And they still kept giving him alcohol, he was eventually taken to his room by a member of staff. So day 2 dawned very early courtesy of the cockerel, didn't bother to have breakfast had crisps instead seemed a safer option. Spent the day by the pool which hadn't been cleaned from the day before, none of the outside areas had! We went in search of food, nothing to be had, the beach bar was grim, a few cold chips in a tureen and some salad that was left out uncovered, only one thing to do...... Move out, I found another hotel and booked it for the day after, we went to Side that evening to get some food, it was lovely. So day 3 dawned (early!!!) we couldn't check in to our new hotel until 2pm so spent the morning by the pool.... Nobody was happy with the hotel, the a la carte restaurant was closed up, the drinks were running out and the food was terrible. We checked out and the lady on reception looked very embarrassed, the bell boy looked like he was going to cry... Wasn't his fault poor lad. People were saying it's like this because it is closing next week, but if you have paying guests in that shouldn't matter, the hotel we moved to was also closing but there was food, drinks and entertainment and it was clean, we really enjoyed the rest of our holiday... I did feel sorry for the people staying in the grand prestige as we were able to pay for another hotel, not everyone can. My advice is to steer clear of this hotel, you have been warned.

Problem basically was; facilities and services that we signed up for when booking, were not there and should have been when a guest books and pays their hard earned money. Because it was end of season, the hotel was seemingly shutting down around us!! The staff were tired & past caring. The manager must have finished loads of staff too early as they couldn't cope. All inclusive?? Should have been 3 other restaurants but all were shut. We were all packed into the same area for all meals. Food was clap cold, same every single time & in short supply. People were stood round ages trying to get a table. I cleaned and set out our own table virtually every night. There was absolutely NO entertainment for adults. The last 2 days, they refused to serve ANY spirits . The only alcoholic drinks offered were beer or red wine (vinegar me thinks) The kids play park was filthy. Everything seemed old, weathered, dirty and dated. How can they say this is a 5 star hotel? The spa staff all left on the day my husband was due a massage & hotel wouldn't give him his money back. The guest relations manaber just stood and smirked at him. Absolutely diabolical
