The Helen has 2 unconnected buildings. The newer one faces a side street and is definitely quieter than the old building that faces the main street. The newer unit is more expensive than the older but you may be able to negotiate. For us breakfast was served in the original building & quite a bit above average Turkish breakfast. Best apricots on the trip - just slightly dried & very juicy. No yoghut though. Room was small but spotless. We've stayed in smaller rooms in Turkey. I think the older hotel attracts a "cheaper" crowd. One of our group stayed in the older section & was rudely awakened at 1 AM by an Estonian motorcycle group.

Room Tip: Stay in the newer section.

This is a small hotel in a great location. It's close to the waterfront and the ferrydock. The rooms are small, but clean enough. The bathrooms are tiny. The breakfast buffet was decent and the hotel staff did try to be helpful. It was quite noisy at night, but I also had just arrived and had jetlag, so can't say exactly why I didn't sleep well while I was there. This is not the best place I've ever stayed, but if you simply need a place for a night or two, it will suffice.

The rooms are small but the bathrooms are too small to move around. We didnt think about it too much as the room rate was reasonable. When we went back to our room at night it was impossible to sleep because of the noise coming from the ground floor also the breakfast is served few hours later. The back door of the 'night club' was opening at the back of the building was open all night for the smokers. We requested a room from the back to stay away from the street noise. Anyway besides the noise of the club and smokers our bed linen and the room was smelling cigarette. ANd in the morning sleepy unhappy staff was serving the breakfast in that airless club with a loudy music.

This hotel is well located in the centre of town near the ferry. The rooms are ok - a bit small but fine for a night or two. The breakfast is a normal Turkish hotel buffet.
