I just wanna share this awesome experience that this is by far the best once in a life time experience when you're visiting Cappadocia. Do take Voyager Balloon company as they are by far the best , very professional. Very safe and fun. For someone like me who is afraid of heights, I had a hell of a great time and I didnt feel intimidated the whole experience. Big credit goes to the pilot: Mr Hazim Yaman who manned this flight on 20th Nov 2013. Best experience of all!

We looked at many companies and with the help of tripadvisor and our hotel owner we travelled with Voyager. They are clearly one of several reputable companies (I believe there are around 37 air balloon companies operating currently in the area).

Pick up from hotel at 05:00am, taking for a simple breakfast with much needed coffee and 30mins later picked up again for transport to our balloon. We hired one for 12 persons (it's legal limit being 16) and after seeing the larger baskets on some other balloons packed with 24 people, we felt we had made the right decision. In the smaller baskets like ours you will always be able to have a clear view and not have someone standing in the way.

The views are simply drop jaw spectacular. One of the most amazing experiences of my life.

The landing could not have been more perfect, they landed us directly on to the trailer to tow it away.

Champagne (mixed with cherry juice) at the end to celebrate, with an award diplo and smiles all around.

Thoroughly recommend!

Our pilot Kurtulus Yayan was outstanding. He kept us informed of what to expect , gave us an unforgettable ride both at 2500 meters high and within less than a meter of the ground!
The flight down the Zemi Valley was breathtaking and ended up by landing the balloon with 8 passengers aboard on the trailer used to transport the balloon!!

The much anticipated Voyager balloon ride was booked by our hotel called Local Cave house hotel in Goreme. We were picked up at 5.40am from our hotel and driven to the town for breakfast. After that it was a short ride to the site where we had to board. It was an amazing sight to see the balloons being filled with hot air and the enormity of it.The basket had a capacity of 16persons holding 4 persons in each corner.

Having aprehensions about the altitude and how the open air flight would be, we were all put at ease by the pilot and very very gently we lifted off the ground. We hardly felt the balloon rising and went on photography spree. It was an exhilarating experience with over 100 balloons flying all over the place.

The pilot kept everyone in chirpy mood and he guided us among the rocks and vast expanse of beautiful landscape. After an hour which seemed very short time we then landed very gently directly on the trailer. Soon champagne was popped and everyone enjoyed the drink laced with fruit juice. Thereafter certificates were distributed.

We highly recommend Voyager balloons for their professionalism and friendly nature of the pilot and crew on the ground.

Our balloon ride was booked through a tour agency so we put our faith in them to choose a good one. We were thrilled with the choice of Voyager! They picked us up at our hotel at the designated time, not one minute late. It was dawn, because that's the best time for ballooning in Cappadocia. We were dropped at the Voyager office, where they had a light breakfast waiting for us. Soon we were driven to the ballooning location and after watching them inflate the balloon, the 11 passengers climbed into the basket. I was a little nervous about going up but once we began, I realized these guys know what they're doing.

Our pilot was entertaining and made us feel very secure in the ride. The ride itself was smooth and gentle as could be, and gave us the most spectacular views of Cappadocia imaginable. Since it was such a glorious day, the pilot stayed up an extra 10 minutes (which was nice because the balloon rides are not cheap!) The descent was calm and on the mark. When we climbed out they had champagne waiting for us and took plenty of pictures for us. The pilot explained his training and believe me, if you go with Voyager, you can feel secure that all is professional and safe. Loved every minute!
