Spent 2 weeks here with my family (wife, children aged 9 & 7). We have spent the last few years at various family related resorts around the world so have a pretty good idea of what constitutes the perfect family resort. To start with the negatives: can be noisy both during the day when there is always music playing (there are 2 great beaches tucked away in quiet areas but these are adult only so difficult to get peace and quiet!). In the evening, there is a party night 2/3 nights per week where the music is very loud. After the first night we asked to be moved as it was like having the DJ playing on your balcony! having said that, the music has a hard stop of midnight, but again not great if you have a young family that are light sleepers! Limited choice of restaurants. Main self service buffet and two other a la carte restaurants but one of these is adult only. For a 2 week stay this can be limiting. You have the option of going into the local town for a meal but then having paid for full board plus at the Hillside, many people won't feel happy about forking out money just to have a bit more choice. Also, beach / pool can get very busy and the usual situation that you have to get up pretty early to 'reserve' your deck chairs for the day. It is also very hilly with many steep steps, great for building super human calves / glutes, not so great with young children or the elderly.
So, having got the negatives out of the way, the positives are: very clean, staff are helpful / enthusiastic; service is great; scenery is second to none; great facilities : great watersports; brilliant dive school; great gym, good tennis courts etc. water is crystal clear; spa is excellent; food is of a high standard (even the buffet is of a high standard: clean, fresh, massive choice etc). Entertainment every night in the amphitheatre which is of a very high standard. whatever the entertainments team get paid , its not enough - they are very, very good. Accommodation (we stayed in a family suite) was very good - very clean, with great facilities.

Overall, we had a great time here. We would certainly consider returning to Hillside as it is better than many places we have been to. To be perfect however, it would need to address the noise issue; introduce a couple more dining options, perhaps another swimming pool (with slides for slightly older children - they have slides for very young children).

I know, that my title sounds exaggerated, however after my third time in this club and many other affirmations by friends and many other bad experiences with other such clubs I allowed myself this phrase. Once again it proves that you have to pay a bit more I you want better quality in service, cleanness and food. And if you are also making only 5 days a year a seaside holidays, satisfaction is guaranteed. Congratulations to the team and the management, because I m sure there has to be strict discipline behind this perfectness. Especially for families with small kids or even babies this place is a dream ! Imagine, it has a baby buffet !

We stayed for 4 nights and got what we expected. Great place especially for families with kids. Best place at the region. Definitely recommend.

I read the reviews on here with high expectations. This place was below par in every way.
Families??? It isn't suitable for families with children under the ages of 6, as the steep concrete steps up the hillside are jus too dangerous. We saw a few 'accidents' with kids with scratched faces and bruises from tripping up. ....
On arrival we had the unfortunate noise from the 'Pacha' nightclub, which completely spoilt the ambiance of the place.
definitely not right for children.
I have to say that most of the other clientele were complaining due to noise, bad service, too busy on the beach (no sunbeds or brollies). they were all right its a shambles.
To be honest with over 300 rooms (you are talking about maybe 900 clients max at once) all crammed into a small 'bay beachclub' this place is definitely not value for money.
we paid 900 euros per night (we paid the same at a gorgous palazzo in Capri and also in Maldives) this doesn't compare.
The onyl saving grace is the 'nature spa' which was out of this world. seriously good. The scenary was also lovely too (but spoilt by too many people and too much loud music). I would visit this place again by staying on a Turkish Gulet and just visiting the spa - yet havig peace and quite and enjoy the beautiful coastline. definitely don't go and spend your money elsewhere!
