Around 30 of us went to this resort for our first school reunion in 35 years. It was a wonderful experience. We were given rooms in the villas that are spread throughout one part of the property.

Each villas is constructed in the classic Middle-Eastern architecture, complete with even barjeel's (wind-tower). Our villa had 18 rooms. The rooms are huge and well kept. I did have a chance to go into king-bed rooms and twin-bed rooms and noticed that they were all huge compared to most other 5-star properties I had been to.

The view from each of the rooms was not necessarily too great as we even had a room that opened out into the internal road. The view from my balcony (818) wasn't great either as it opened into the balcony of the opposite villa with the Waldorf Astoria towering behind it. The lawns of each of the villas were also well kept and some even had hammocks. The landscape also had cobble-stone walkways. One of our rooms (464) had a balcony that opened into the beach.

The villas are a few minutes walk from the main building and if you have luggage or don't want to walk, you could also call-in their buggy that usually comes quite fast (did get annoyed on checkout with the 20min wait and walked with our luggage!)
The quality of service in the hotel and in the restaurant are excellent. However, if you are going to stay in this resort for more than a day, you are very likely to get bored with the spread of food on offer for the buffet. We were there for two nights and noticed hardly any difference between the choice of items for each meal. For a 5-star hotel, the spread on offer for the buffet leaves a lot to be desired. The staff at the restaurant are excellent and pro-active- special mention for Takudzwa who anticipated when I needed something on more than one occasion and also to the gentleman from Kerala (couldn't catch his name!) who catered to us on our first day.

There were some negatives about this property too;
1.) the check-in process was slow and took more than an hour. Have noticed that in the Hilton RAK resort and spa too when I stayed there.
2.) the main hotel lobby and the conference rooms are kept uncomfortably warm mainly to cater to the Russian or East European guests, I would guess. It was so annoying for us as we were sweating it out whether we were in the restaurant or in the conference room. Our complaint from the conference room didn't make any difference and we were left to sweat it out.
3.) if you play beach volleyball and want to do so here, you could be in for a rude shock. The court doesn't have beach sand, this being a reclaimed area. The court is quite hard and filled with stones and shells. 3 of us ended up with cuts and bruises!
4.) The area of the beach that we went to (straight to the volleyball court) was also stony till we reached knee-high water. Couldn't check out if this was so for the rest of the beach.

All in all, good value for money and a very relaxing place to stay. Loved the huge rooms.

Room Tip: Room 464 had a balcony to the beach

Stayed here for nine days in late March and had a thoroughly enjoyable visit. I don't usually single out any particular members of staff and they were largely on the ball but special mention must be made of:

Binoy Francis (Front Office Supervisor) who was very helpful prior to our arrival in arranging easy access accommodation for one of our party with limited mobility, who greeted us warmly when we checked in and who checked regularly that we were enjoying our stay.

Childa (Restaurant Hostess) who is just delightful; she has a warm friendly personality, constantly smiles and is so helpful.

Nareej and Jefferson (Waiters) and Prabhin (Bar tender) who work tirelessly to deliver great service.

The truth is that the Doubletree or Hilton Resort RAK may be a little more 'glitzy' and that they certainly offer more choice in their buffet restaurants but don't overlook this gem of a hotel. It was clean and tidy, we had good bedrooms in a great location and all in all decided that we will, on balance, look to go back to the Hilton Al Hamra later this year rather than to one of the others.

My wife and I decided to have a break for our birthdays in Ras Al Khaimah and chose Hilton Al Hamra on an all inclusive basis ,as it looked perfect for our break

The hotel is at an excellent location with pool and beach and if you needed a walk there is a mall about 15 minutes walk from the hotel

From the time we arrived , given a lovely room by Binoy at the desk ,and his team and being well taken care of by the catering team we had a very enjoyable holiday

Binoy was friendly from the time we arrived, and he also asked one of the porters to show us around the hotel in his buggy, which was greatly appreciated and he ensured that if we had any issues they got resolved immediately

The room we were given was a superior room with a beautiful view of the pool and the beach and could see the lovely sunset every evening which made it really special

When we first arrived at the resort we got excellent service in the restaurant but on the second day the service was really poor and it appears that it was down to their Fish and Meat function and having temporary staff. We just mentioned it to Dimitrios , the restaurant manager, when he was passing and he couldn’t apologise enough

When we came for lunch , Dimitrios ensured we got a table not far from the entrance and from then onwards the service was excellent.
Everyone went out of their way to ensure we had everything that we needed in the restaurant.
Dimitrios always had time to come and have a chat with us and to ensure we had everything that we needed.

Our special thanks to Dimitrios of course, but also to Varun (and his team) who was an excellent host and ensured that he came and checked on us regularly in case we needed anything at all. He was always very friendly , very efficient and professional and certainly wish him all the best at the resort. He even got us some chillies from Mai Tai restaurant as he knew we liked our chillies!

The all inclusive food was excellent and enjoyed the different style menus everyday (Arabic, Indian, Engish, etc). Breakfast was also excellent.

Also thanks to Silva, the head chef, and his team as they were always happy to accommodate our needs and on one occasion I just happened to mentioned that we were missing Parathas and in a few minute Silva had actually gone and prepared them for us which was greatly appreciated.

The pool attendants were always friendly and helpful and always helped us if we needed any assistance

Le Chalet , poolside restaurant, could be better organised , maybe some sort of queuing system, but again our thanks to Vipin as he was always very welcoming , friendly and made lovely virgin Pina Caladas for us !
He put in that extra effort to make us feel welcome and always had time to ask us if we needed anything when we were by the poolside

Ronel always ensured the room was in immaculate conditon and if he met you he always had a smile and always asked if we needed anything for the room.

We even got a breakfast box of goodies ,as we had to leave early for the flight from Dubai, and really enjoyed them whilst waiting at the airport.

The only thing missing was maybe to have some sort of events in the evenings where we could just relax and enjoy the shows.

We had a great break and really enjoyed our stay at the lovely resort and look forward to going back with our grandchildren

Room Tip: Ask for a beach and sunset pool view

One of the best Hiltons available in the area. Until 2018 perfect price/quality combination. Perfect for families with the children. Here you have good managers and bad followers (cleaners, waiters etc.), usually, it's vice versa. In order to make your room to be cleaned on time and for you to get what you want - learn to be proactive and talk to the managers (even if you have to go up to the duty manager Sherif). When you'll learn to be proactive - you'll have the best stay possible.

We were one week in this resort, just over easter time, and spent a very nice and enjoyable week here. The hotel is located at a private sandy beach and has two swimmingpools and beside the regulary all-incl restaurant, also a thai and arab restaurant. We booked a double room with breakfast only and were gladly surprised about the beautiful and big room. The staff was friendly and very helpful. A very special thanks is to the duty manager, Sherif Abdul Nast, who was very glad to made our shower working again in very short time! And many thanks to the surprise in the room! We can recommend this hotel to couples and families, even if the wellknown Hilton-Fivestar-Service isn‘t that high as in other Hilton resorts, we felt very welcomed. Many thanks!
