We are currently staying at Villa Hoa Su, and love it here.

The setting is romantic with a lovely pool and ornate ponds.

The rooms are beautiful, but like most of Vietnam the beds are hard. Aircon is great, there is free wifi and the staff are wonderful.

The owner put on a Christmas lunch for us yesterday, and it was very nice. The breakfast is simple but nice.

It is a bit our of town, but it is only a short bike ride, and even shorter taxi trip

I would recommend that anyone booking to contact the Villa directly as it is common for
people to book on 3rd party websites and turn up to find it is already booked out.

We love this place!

This place is beautiful, very tastefully decorated rooms, beautiful landscape gardens and very well taken care of. It's a bike ride or taxi ride away from the city centre but we really enjoyed the bike ride in actually and would not have wanted it any different. Overall we thought this place had the potential to be really great but currently has some opportunities for improvement - the cleanliness in the room wasn't perfect, the staff could be more forthcoming information about local activities..basically they could up the service a notch. BUT Don't let this stop you from staying there..we wouldn't wanted to have stayed any other place (even considered extending for a day)..just a pity that they're not exploiting it to the full

We spent four days at Villa Hoa Su November 2010 - wet season. I definitely want to go back when it is fine so we can enjoy the pool, the outdoor bath and the free bikes. Very friendly, helpful staff, great food. A quiet and relaxing place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of Hoi An township.

After a long trip on the overnight train from Hanoi, we were quite excited to arrive at the stunningly beautiful Vila Hoa Su. (This is also listed as Vila Hoa Su Frangipangi here on Trip Advisor - same place).

We were greeted by Bond who showed us quickly around and them to our rooms. Photos don't do justice to the incredibly comfortable, well decorated rooms and fantastic outdoor shower and tub. Our only complaint about the room would be there was never enough hot water for two showers. But this wasn't a big deal in the warm weather.

The lagoon gardens, central covered lounge area and impeccably clean pool were always a fantastic sight for our eyes upon waking in the morning or returning to the resort from being out on the town. We wish we could have stayed another couple of days.

The location we gave a five - it wasn't the easiest to find for airport transfer drivers but taxis can find it and after the hectic nature of Hanoi, we were happy to be able to escape the hustle of the town for the serene quiet. The vila is surrounded by small homes and sort-of-farms so the only sound you hear at night are the crickets and roosters. Each morning we took a bike and rode the ten minutes into town - a great ride once the floods had gone down, allowing us to take the more pleasant rode, rather than the main street. We enjoyed biking past the local people outside the tourist zone, knowing that a wave hello and a "How are you" are genuine questions rather than starters for invitations to buy stuff.

Breakfast each morning was nice with fresh squeezed OJ and eggs and warm baguette. And I understand you can arrange to have dinner brought out to you for a quiet dinner by the lagoon if you wish.

The only warning - is with the laundry. It was done in a day and delivered fresh and folded. However we should have asked how much before hand - they charged us over 400,000 dong ($20 US) for our laundry. In town you can get it done for 10,000 Dong a kilo so this was massively over-expensive.

Villa Hoa Su is a perfect getaway- I work in HCMC, and it was the perfect tonic for the soul! The staff are amazing, friendly and helpful but also discreet, and as a solo traveller, I felt well looked after. Bond helped me to plan what to do, and the girls made me AMAZING fresh breakfasts! The rooms are lovely- spacious, clean and without frills. The gardens and pool are really beautiful, and very relaxing.
The hotel is located just outside the town (so no traffic noise- which is blissful after a few months in Saigon!), and is halfway between the beach and the town centre. Bicycles are provided free, and it's such a pleasure to whizz along the country roads to the beach or into the town (I was having my own Eat Pray Love moments!) It's also just a few minutes by taxi (for when it's too hot or too dark to cycle!)
The owner owns a few tailors shops in town- the girls are sweet (and excellent!) I'd definitely recommend them. Also- eat at Morning Glory, and get a massage at Na Spa... And spend some time doing absolutely nothing by the pool at the villa... :)
