Experienced 5/5
Good view from the top that goes 360 and the history of Hakodate war past is explained at the top that explain the important of the fort.
Food 3/5
So food was average, I had an Ice Cream and rested there before proceeding with my exploration. Would be a better option to save your tummy for better food at other places.
Although I am afraid of heights I did not want to miss this. The view of the park was excellent. I thought the entrance fee was quite expensive for what it was.
Best attraction on Saturday. Got a good view of Goryokaku Garden and Hakodate city. Admission fees ¥900/adult. Recommended for first timer who visit Hakodate.
Line up, take pictures and then leave.
We visited there not in busy times, so everything is smooth.
I think it’s better to have a walk down the park then to pay for the elevator!
It's not the most stylish of towers once you get to the viewing deck, but it does have a great view of Goryokaku Park as well as a few exhibits showcasing the history of Goryokaku. Don't forget to collect the stamp impression!
This is a historical landmark with many activities inside the tower. Collect stamps, buy local food as souvenirs or simply enjoy the beautiful view from above the tower. There is also history in the form of comic and pictures to depict the past.
Better than going around the star-shaped park below
