For the new year 2020

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 8 Jan 2020
It is a very new hotel and there is always long q for checking in. However the q moves quickly and it is easy to check in using the automated machine. I have choose the high floor with views facing Minato Mirai side and it is beautiful. The room tv also has a onsen crowd level to monitor so you can visit the onsen at a less crowded timing. The onsen is awesome, especially the outdoor onsen.

At level 4, there are 2 family mart and another 1 at ground floor outside the lobby.

It will be easier if you can take the MM line and alight at Bashamichi Station Exit 4 for lift access then a short walk to the hotel.

Room was small as expected, but space used wisely. Bed was comfortable, though the pillows could have been thicker. As it stands, they are very thin - think of a thickness of a bathmat, and rather firm. Everything was spectacularly clean. Onsen / Public Bath was very nice - indoor and outdoor ones available - I estimate 8 total baths available. There are two family marts inside the hotel near the Onsen so you can rehydrate with your favorite beverage immediately after spending some times in the baths.

Check in and check out were a breeze, but I could see how a long line could form; we checked in late at 11 PM.

Location is great to get to local attractions. Highly recommend.

Thank you for staying at APA Hotel & Resort <Yokohama Bay Tower>.

As you say, the hotel's calling station is the Minato Mirai Line Bashamichi Station, but it can also be accessed from JR Line Sakuragicho and Kannai Station. It takes 3 minutes on foot from Bashamichi Station and about 10 minutes on the JR line. I am glad to hear that you received a compliment from the staff.

In addition, because it is the largest hotel in Japan with 2,311 rooms, we have prepared two convenience stores in the building to reduce congestion.
We have received many well-received words that you can shop without going outside. Thank you for being able to receive the same words from our customers.

Thank you for your valuable feedback while you are busy.
We would also appreciate it if you could use this hotel when you are in the vicinity.

We look forward to seeing you again.

I had the opportunity to stay at APA Hotel and Resort Yokohama Bay. First of all, it is very easy to check in. Automated check in but there are service people to assist in case there is a problem.

The room was the tiniest that I have stayed. It's tiny even for one person. The bed is just nice for one person. Shower room was small too. I felt claustrophobic and needed to leave the room to get some air.

It gets really hot at night. I felt I was back in Singapore. No matter how much I tried to reduce the temperature it's central controlled heating and so it was like 28C in the room!!! I couldn't sleep well.

The room was clean and they gave more than enough amenities. Always providing me with fresh towels everyday with the toiletries. Very friendly staff and there are few eateries and two Family mart within the hotel compound.

Walking distance to the Redbrick warehouse.

These rooms are tiny, even by Japanese standards. The lobby is huge but you spend more time in the room than in the lobby. The room is so small that any luggage must be stored under the bed, there is no room to open it except on the bed itself. There is no closet. The room is so small that it makes the cruise ship stateroom and bathroom feel like a penthouse. The other main negative is the rigid check in process. Even though it is all done by kiosks, the area is roped off until precisely 2 PM, not one minute earlier. The check in kiosks are worse than the self service registers at Walmart. You have to enter in all the info yourself, scan your passports, etc. The lack of interactional contact makes you unable to make any changes to your reservation (upgrades, length of stay, etc.) And everyone was having difficulty with the system so the employees were darting from one machine to the next to assist customers. The pillows are hard as rocks. The towels, however, are very soft. The building itself is clean and modern. There is no in room microwave but there are several restaurants in and near the hotel

Stayed here for two days in a double room during the rugby World Cup. The hotel is very large, clean and new.

On arrival we joined a lengthy queuing system which led to a bank of 10 or so automated check in machines sited in a row in front of the reception desk. It took an age!

Every customer checking in seemed to have problems with the system and needed help from the hotel staff who busily darted around behind the reception counter trying to assist. This was certainly an example of technology slowing things down!

The room was tiny - and I mean tiny - yet it was clean and functional. The shower room was the smallest I’ve ever experienced by some distance.

That said the bed was comfortable, everything in the shower room was clean, modern and worked. There was a helpful message advising you to place the suitcase under the bed. Nowhere else to put it!

For a reasonably priced short term stay I guess the hotel served its purpose although not sure I’d want to stay for a longer period of time.

This is titled a Resort and Hotel - resort it is not and hotel it is if the definition is it has rooms and a beds. Like others I found the Check-In clumsy. The room we were given on check in turned out was on a smoking floor despite me requesting and booking non smoking. So had to go down and spend another 30 minutes whilst they tried to resolve - which they did eventually and after some discussion during which time they disputed my booking etc. The rooms are absolutely tiny, even by Japanese standards and horribly decorated. The beds are not comfortable and if a couple one will have to clamber over the other to get in and out. The pillows are a horrible memory foam type and despite asking a few times no other option arrived. The bar was ok and the coffee room was fine - although it did smell pretty badly of drains. We have stayed 30 nights in various hotels across Japan and this has been the least enjoyable place. Would not revisit and don’t recommend.
