Stayed 3 nights for Rugby World Cup. The hotel is easy to get to from Haneda airport. It is next to Shin Yokohama station. Check in was quick. Staff have limited English but they try. Like all Japanese staff they are very rigid with their rules. The room is reasonable size for a Japanese hotel. You do get a nice view of the surrounding areas. The bathroom is those modular plastic ones, like those in a cruise ship but slightly bigger. There is also no ventilation or exhaust. The bath towels are thin and flimsy. The main attraction is that it is a 15min walk to the Yokohama international stadium which is also called the Nissan stadium.

I don't know I where to begin, so I'll just say I will never stay here again. In the words of Boris Johnson, I'd rather be dead in a ditch. What a complete and utter shambles. For a hotel to be a host hotel for the Rugby World Cup and to so spectacularly unprepared is outstanding.

I stayed at the Shin during the rugby World Cup. This hotel is in the heart of the Shin Yokohama district close to the main railway station. Note that it is some distance away from the "heart" of the city.

Check in was efficient and the room was perfect. Clean and comfortable with all the expected amenities. Breakfast was really good in the morning with a huge selection. Wi-fi was perfect but he TV did lack English language stations. There is a shopping mall attached which can be accessed direct from the hotel. a 7/11 type supermarket is also available in the main foyer for drinks and snacks

One point of note is that the service could be better. I was waiting in the bar area for some friends and was told that I could not sit there unless I placed an order. I informed the waiter that I would when they arrived in 5 or 10 minutes, but he still made me move. Once they got there after the rugby, we decided to order a beer (at 10.30pm) and it was a real hassle getting served. The sign stated that the bar closed at 11pm and we had to point this out to the staff. We could only stay till 11.10pm and then got kicked out again. For a hotel of this size and quality the bar should have been open for much longer to cater for the many who were now congregating around.

As a hotel and a place to stay .... perfect. As for feeling welcome ???.... that's maybe a no !

Stayed here for one night for the Rugby World Cup, we were very disappointed. 45 mins queuing to check in 😳. The room was small which we were expecting but it was also old, plain beige walls , brown carpets no pictures and had one of those plastic pod bathrooms with no ventilation fans so they smell and nothing ever drys. Cheap rough small towels, one very flat pillow each and a very hard bed. No sound proofing so you could hear all the internal and external noise. I would never stay here again, The Associate Hotel 2mins away is a much much nicer modern hotel. The only good thing at this hotel were the staff.

Large,40 floor, cylindrical shape hotel on the end of a shopping mall adjacent to (another) shopping mall joined to the Shinkansen station... so very convenient and easy to get to from the Shinkansen station. The rooms are pretty spacious, well equipped and all have external views being on the outside of the 'cylinder'. Very large number of restaurants, cafes, convenience stores very near.... but not much else as the hotel seems to be in the business area of the city. The waterfront, china town etc is a few stops away on the JR line.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights while visiting to watch the World Cup rugby. Location is excellent and only a 15-20 minute walk to the stadium (NB there are 2 stadiums in Yokohama) and there is a bus directly to the hotel from Haneda Airport. We picked up a Fox pocket WiFi at Haneda which has been great so far.
We were on 22 floor with small twin room and smallish bathroom - all adequate. Beds were pretty hard. Nice view towards stadium. Literally hotel is 5 minute walk from Shin Yokohama station and easy to wheel luggage there when we departed. We did not eat in the hotel. One morning we took blue line subway to the waterfront area - very straightward and wondered around Chinatown and the waterfront area. Not a lot to do/see in Shin Yokohama area but lots of restaurants/bars/coffee shops.
We were there for a purpose and it served us well.
Very easy checkin and checkout. Fantastic smooth lifts in the hotel. Hotel connected to shopping complex with large food supermarket in basement floor. There is one coffee shop that stays open late towards the back of the shopping complex.

Room tip: Better views night up
