This tiny sliding door place with the typical cloth hanging half way over the entrance was perfect for us for lunch. It is the low-table sort of eatery with a long counter on one side. It was pleasantly funky and quite cozy. The tables are all quite small, but the counter was occupied so we made do with a table.
The woman who took our order accompanied us outside to the window so we could show her what we wanted as there was neither picture nor English menu. We had tonkatsu donburi and a bowl of udon with prawn tempura (two huge prawns) on top. Excellent green tea provided free of charge. This was a very nice lunch for ¥1360 total.
The restaurant specializes in eel, but for lunch we wanted something different. Everything was very good.
We first noticed the place the day before we ate there when we walked by and saw their cat, sleeping on the ground just outside the door. The cat was still there when we returned the next day.
