Lovely orthodox church situated in a (not so well maintained) park in the center of Almaty . I have seen more impressive orthodox churches in other places in the world - so 10 to 15 minutes should be more than enough to visit this one !

Set in parkland this is an interesting church of wooden construction. There are some interesting icons within.

Super architecture and beautiful piece of art, external and internal. After being razed to ground, it has been supremely rebuilt and a must visit while in Almaty

After a bit of confusion I got inside this beautiful gem of a church. There is a bit of restoration taking place which makes it look closed. Worth a visit to say a prayer ans light a candle.

Enjoyed seeing the historic church, especially after having learned a little about Russian Orthodox history earlier in the week from our tour guide Dennis Keen.
Actually toured while a service was going on and was very interesting. Make sure to cover your head when you enter and be very quiet if service is going on. Do not take pictures of people in the church.
