We stayed in St Regis just a couple of days ago and to our delight were upgraded to the Andaman suite and everything was amazing from the welcome drinks to tour of the property, our nicely decorated room with complimentary anniversary cake and fruits as well as introduction of the butler service.
All of the staff were polite and obliging and we had great sunset view on the hammock before adjoining to our dinner at Kayu Puti. Special thanks to Alexander and Prema for their detailed services. We will be back for sure.

My husband and I spent a week here in Langkawi. Upon arriving at the airport we were greeted by St Regis staff who picked us up in a lovely air conditioned vehicle. The drive to st Regis is a 30 minute drive.

Upon arrival our checkin was friendly and we were told our credit card would have a preauthorisation of 2000myr, however, our friends who checked in the same time has a preauthorisation of 7000myr, the first of many inconsistencies.

We spent the four days in a penthouse suite which was very large and clean. It really was too big for us but did have a lovely look out. When we were shown to our room we were informed the Buttler was busy but would come along later. The butler must have been very busy because we never saw anyone the time we were in that penthouse suite.

We were not told of anything that was going on in the hotel during our checkin but our friends were. We then moved to a pool suite which was smaller but had a lovely pool and had a seperate lounge room. The pool is 1.2 metres deep and had sun lounges and a cabana bed.

There are a number of hotel restaurants. We ate at a number of them. The St Regis has a partnership with fellow SPG hotel the Westin so you can eat in there restaurants and add it to you bill at st Regis. They can take you by buggy to the Westin.

One night we went to Pantai grill which is on the beach. The setting is lovely, right on the beach. Mosquito coils under the tables and candlelight. It’s a seafood restaurant. We ordered and had our meals and went back to our rooms. 3 out of four of us got food poisoning and spent the night throwing up. Couldn’t eat the next day. We went up to tell the front desk to advise them we had all had food poisoning, in case others had the same thing. They said they would follow it up. We didn’t eat at all the next day and no one from the hotel bothered to see how we were.

Breakfast has a variety of food. Staff were friendly however things didn’t arrive when ordered and in the week we were there eggs were cooked properly only once which really surprised me of a five star hotel.

The best staff of this hotel are the guys on the door. They were so nice and asked what we had planned and actually seemed interested.

I would say that management have a problem with cleaning and maintenance. Obviously things are not cleaned like they should be. Black mould in the bathroom, staining in the lounge and footstool, slime on the outside cabana and black mould on some of the surfaces. Things obviously aren’t wiped down. The table outside wasn’t wiped down prior to us arriving or while we were there. Another disappointing and surprising thing of a st Regis hotel especially as it’s only 2 years old.

Langkawi as a destination is lovely. I would come back to Langkawi but unfortunately my experience of the St Regis Langkawi certainly doesn’t meet all the marketing of how good it is and if I can’t trust food in a hotel that’s a problem.

We were picked up from the Airport in a Luxury Car, and whisked off to the St-Regis.
Beautifully presented Hotel, Genuinely friendly staff. The Butler service was great anything needed to be done, pressing of clothes, packing and unpacking suitcases etc
Great Views over the water, extremely well presented suite, with every luxury you require. L'Orangerie was fantastic for Breakfast & Dinner, the over water restaurant and Bar Kuti Puri was exquisite. The Iridium Spa was so very relaxing.
The 6.30pm severing of the champagne cork every night is a St-Regis tradition and gave us the opportunity to meet other guests, nice gesture with nice bubbles.
Would strongly recommend.

Room Tip: A Suite with water views or alternatively with your own private pool

Where do I start ! We arrived at the airport and picked up by the shuttle service, in a new Range Rover driver was very kind and professional the back seat had some welcome treats for us. We arrived and were giving fresh water checked into our private villa. Our butler was always attentive in anything we needed and the room was amazing! Breakfast and dinners were very tasty! Beach amazing and night activities were fun!

Thank you hoti and Ling. I had the best mani and pedi. Scrub and Urut Melayu

Ling was very present and intuitive during the massage.

Can I bring him home with us? Would’ve love to try more treatments but alas we needed to leave.
