We chose this riad as it was reasonably priced and was located on the main street of the old medina , close to the parking and the port . The rooms were a bit small and very minimalistic in their decor . No complains , only issue we faced was communicating with the owner who stays in top floor , as we couldn't speak or understand French . She tried to be friendly with her limited knowledge of english though . Breakfast was good , served on the terrace with some awesome views .

I spent 5 blissful days in Essaouria

Riad Lyon was an amazing place to stay. Rooms cleaned every day. Breakfast on the terrace were superb. Carole the host made you feel you were truly her guest and nothing was too much trouble. Mint tea and talk about Essaouria on the terrace was a lovely way to start my stay.

I intend to return to Essaouria. I will definitely return to Lyon.
I will recommend Essaouria and Lyon to everyone!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. I went with a friend for a two night break from Marrakech. Liked it so much stayed an extra night. Very characterful, clean and comfortable. Carol was a great hostess. Breakfasts were excellent with just right amount of variety. Well situated and great view from roof terrace. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed just 2 nights at the Ryad Lyon-Mogador In the medina = city center, which you reach on foot and have a "porter" bring your bags to the Ryad. What a delightful welcome with tea on the rooftop, explanations of where to go, eat and drink -- and bring your own wine! Our room was a nice size and had a lovely bathroom with shower. We were in the Cornut room which was so tastefully done. Views out of the room on the outside you don't write home about, but from the rooftop terrace YES. Breakfast was so fun with gulls skulking about as we had fresh pressed orange juice, January strawberries, crepes, coffee, tea, omlettes, local bread... what a lovely place to stay with a first-class owner and great Ryad in Essaouira.Tired from shopping? Just relax on the wondeful rooftop. Value for money, believe you me.

We spent one night in this modern riad located in the heart of the medina, just off one of the main shopping streets. We were welcomed with mint tea and Moroccan pastries and offered a selection of rooms to pick from. We were happy with the first we saw - clean and well decorated in a modern Moroccan style. The room was on the small side but plenty big enough for a short stay. The bathroom was large and we were provided with towels and toiletries.

The following morning we enjoyed a pleasant breakfast on the roof terrace. I require a gluten free diet and this was well catered for with a selection of fruit and nuts, yogurt and eggs. Other travellers were offered a selection of bread, croissants and pancakes. Fresh orange juice and hot drinks were provided.

As we were only staying the night and wanted to make the most of our only day in Essaouira, the owners kindly let us keep our room until our late afternoon departure to store our luggage and freshen up before we travelled on.

Thank you for your great hospitality.
